A Christmas fun drive thru lights
This place is right off the highway. It's easy to find. Lots of homes from the pioneer days. There is also a lake in the park. If you are here during Christmas, they have the Christmas lights tour you can drive through!!!

Great Collection of 19th Century Homes
The Grayson County Frontier Village and Museum is located in Loy Park, between Sherman and Denison. The park includes a visitors center and county museum, with many interesting historical artifacts and great photographs. Spread across the grounds are about 25 buildings, including area log cabins and homes built between 1830 and 1870, a small replica pioneer courthouse, smokehouse, newspaper office and dentist office, and barber shop. The buildings are all arranged with period furniture and equipment. I enjoyed my self tour using the very informative tour guide from the visitors center, but would suggest checking ahead to see is a tour guide is available for a more informative visit. The volunteer lady at the first building mentioned that all the buildings are open during the Civil War Weekend, with in-house guides, occurring in late October. Having a guide and the buildings open would make a big difference. The cost was minor - $3 - and I spent about an hour walking around and also visiting the museum. Recommended as an educational stop from Sherman or Denison.
