  1. 5.0 FinAtics Fishing Charters (185 reviews)
    - Fishing with Captain Andrew
Saturday: 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM Fishing Charters & Tours
    FinAtics Fishing Charters image
I would like to thank Captain Andrew for the time of our life on the water. Andrew said it might be slow because of the rodeo. The captain said they’d caught some fish on a selected location yesterday and we would try it first, and it was all on from there! We caught over 100 fish, 40 keepers and we kept him hopping! Andrew keeping saying, “Reel Randy, Reel!” haha. The trip was shortened due to the storm, but for 2.5 hours, we had a ball, and the trip was well worth the money. I would highly recommend Andrew as a guide, even though he hit every bump on the water on the way in. Haha. I asked him to turn around and hit the one he missed. We joked and cut up with him all day long, and I know we won’t forget him, and he will never forget the crew from VA. I expect a review on us from Captain Andrew haha See more..

  3. 5.0 Dauphin Island Marina (24 reviews)
    - Family fun excursion
    Spent 2-3 hours Marinas
    Dauphin Island Marina image
We booked a fishing excursion through Dauphin Island Marina and it was an awesome experience. The two people working on the boat were wonderful! I was nervous going into it as I had never been on a fishing excursion, and I knew there would be quite a few people onboard. It all worked out, everybody caught something and most people took home some fish to make for dinner. They exceeded my expectations. This was a low key excursion that was great for families with kids. The crew were patient, helped when somebody reeled in a big catch and helped cast out. We would definitely do it again. See more..

  5. 5.0 SickleFin and Southern Drawl Charters (9 reviews)
    - Highly Recommend!
    Fishing Charters & Tours
SickleFin and Southern Drawl Charters image
There arent any recent reviews for this company, but they were recommended by a local. I didn't know what to expect because we hadn't done a tag and release trip before. On their website it stated they were a research center for a nonprofit, and researching further they are the only charter company on the gulf of mexico with this distinction! It convinced me to give them a try. I'm glad I did! It was absolutely awesome for the whole family! The kids loved getting to name a fish, measurements, etc. We had non stop action, tired out the kids, and the whole experience was great. The boat was impeccably clean, captain was very knowledgeable, more than enough tackle/rods for all of us to catch at the same time. I HIGHLY recommend SickleFin. See more..

My husband, 3 kids, and my 81 yr old mother went out with Capt. Lynn today. My mother had the "time of her life" and some cherished family memories were made. Capt Joey and Capt Lynn could not be more hospitable and accommodating. They worked around the spotty weather and made sure everyone had a great time and caught some fish! Will defiantly plan another fishing trip with them next summer. Thank you for a beautiful day! See more..

  8. 5.0 Sand Island Lighthouse (4 reviews)
    - Historic lighthouse still standing tall.
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Lighthouses
    Sand Island Lighthouse image
Took a trip with Captain Tommy Rachel of Gulf Boat Tours to see this lighthouse which is slowly losing the battle with the sea. The only way to visit this lighthouse is by boat although it can be seen from Fort Morgan on a clear day. Sand island was originally about 400 acres but the erosion of the sea has washed almost everything except the base of the lighthouse. Due to it's condition, visitors must remain in the boat. Hopefully this piece of maritime history will be preserved for future generations to see. See more..

    - Amazing Scenery, Great Fishing, A True Hidden Gem on Mobile Bay
Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Piers & Boardwalks
I visit this little hidden gem at least once a month. It has just been restored since the last hurricane, There is no railing yet so small children or folks with impaired balance could take a dangerous unplanned swim if not careful! A salt water fishing license is required. But, I have great luck even if the catch is not 'keeper' sized. A good place for netting blue crabs as well. Live and cut bait works best.Sunsets are amazing here! There is also a nice picnic area right on the water with shelters. Bring folding chairs though as there are just 2 benches available. There is also no restroom facilities nearby. See more..

  13. 4.5 Mobile Bay Ferry (718 reviews)
    - Sunset Ferry Ride
    Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:15 PM Spent < 1 hour Ferries
    Mobile Bay Ferry image
The Mobile Bay Ferry crosses beautiful Mobile Bay, Alabama and connects SR 193 at Dauphin Island on the west side with SR 180 at Mobile Point on the east. Considered “the Gulf-Coast’s Most Scenic Drive”, the ferry saves travelers hours of driving time plus the high cost of fuel by providing a travel link across the mouth of Mobile Bay. The trip between Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island and Fort Morgan at Mobile Point provides wonderful views of the two historic forts that have long guarded the entrance of Mobile Bay. The trip takes approximately 40 minutes and is a great way for passengers to view birds, sea life and other boats and ships. The ferry service utilizes two ferries, the Fort Morgan and the Marissa Mae Nicole to carry passengers and vehicles across the Bay. At least one ferry operates year-round with both ferries operating during the busy summer months. See more..

Dauphin Island Audubon Bird Sanctuary image
After several tips to the island, we finally made a point to visit the sanctuary. We should've done this sooner! It's a great place to wind down, take a stroll, and enjoy the sights/sounds of nature. Easy trails take you around a small lake (say hey to the alligators) and out to the beach (beautiful views and benches). Parking can be complicated, but it's not terrible. A free, family-friendly, accessible activity you should definitely put on your list! See more..
  17. 4.5 Capt. Mike's Deep Sea Fishing (49 reviews)
    - Best inshore fishing ever
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Fishing Charters & Tours
Capt. Mike's Deep Sea Fishing image
We had the deep sea trip with Skipper booked but the Escape broke and the part was delayed (then lost) by the shipping company. We had excellent communication and updates on the situation from Iris as soon as the problem was known and 8 of the guys decided to just wait and rebook which we have done for October. However, with flights already booked, two of us decided to come anyway and fish inshore with Capt. Mike, We’ve fished a lot of fresh and salt water and this was the best fishing we’ve experienced ... caught a bunch of trout and big bull Redfish... a shark and mackerel added more variety. Mike’s a pleasure to spend a day with and he knows where the fish are. He kept us entertained in the very few slow times during the day. Stayed out until nearly dark and brought a ton of fish home. Can’t wait to come back in October for the deep sea 2.5 day trip. See more..

  19. 4.0 Dauphin Island Public Beach (420 reviews)
    - BEAUTIFUL, UNCROWDED, TONS OF BEACH
Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
    Dauphin Island Public Beach image
If you don't mind the long walk to the beach from the parking lot, you will enjoy this beautiful, uncrowded beach. There is a ton of room to spread out along the beach so that you feel like you have your own private space. There are dolphins that swam fairly close, and little fish and sizable crabs that our older kids enjoyed netting in the water. Its. A. Long. Walk. Bring everything you need including an umbrella, a ton of sunscreen, chairs, a cooler, towel, camera, a net (even if ur an adult its fun!) I hear vinegar is good for jelly fish but we did not see or feel any of those while visiting, and whatever else you feel necessary! ENJOY! Suncreen even if ur under an umbrella! See more..
  20. 4.0 Action Outdoors (25 reviews)
    - Great fishing fun for everyone
    Other Outdoor Activities
    Action Outdoors image
We did this fishing trip on the Duke with our three children aged 3, 9, and 14. The captain and deckhand were always nice and full of random information on the 4 hour expedition. We dropped anchor off the point near Ft. Gaines and fished for a few hours. My family alone caught many ground mullet, a few hardtail, a couple catfish, and a stingray! I especially appreciated the help with our little one and giving him a chance to "catch a fish" once a few were hooked. He was over the top about that. The deckhand helped bait most of the time, unhook any fish, and even filleted all our spoils at the end of our trip. We split our bounty with the others and still came home with a bag full of fresh fish. I would not hesitate to recommend this outfit to anyone looking for a great way to entertain themselves without breaking the bank. Thank you! See more..
  21. 3.5 Indian Shell Mound Park (116 reviews)
    - Shell Mound is small, but the spirits are mighty.
    State Parks
    Indian Shell Mound Park image
Shell Mound is one of those ancient places that we may never completely understand. There are about 8 mounds you can make out, but the ground is littered all over with oyster shells. The largest mound was tested and found to be at least 800 years old. There are layers of charcoal , shell, fish and between the seasons, Mother Nature reclaims the sight. Meal after meal for 800 years have built the mounds. The area is only 11 acres but plants grow there from as far away as the Appalachians and the Yucatan, Mexico. The locals can hear flute music and soft drums from time to time. The Oaks are old and wise as well. One is believed to be older than the mounds. She has seen all that has gone before. People see faces of the Old Ones in pictures taken of the tree. It is a place that demands respect. See more..

    Speck Tackle Lure image
My husband and I was looking for a great fishing experience while vacationing in Mobile, AL. The name says it all. “Speck Tackle Lure”. We felt safe. Capt. Yano tired to do everything to make the trip “Speck Tackle Lure”. The weather was suspect as there was rain on the horizon. Capt. Yano kept his eye on the weather as we moved to several spots trying to catch the “big one”. We caught lots of speckled trout and yes, we caught the “big one”. Capt. Yano was attentive to us the whole time. At the end of the trip Capt. Yano offered to take us to lunch at one of the local seafood restaurants. We had other plans but was honored he asked. I hope to do this again in the future. See more..
