  2. 5.0 Puppet Showplace Theater (28 reviews)
    - Such a charming theater featuring some of the best puppetry talent in the USA.
    Closed now - 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Theatre & Performances
    Puppet Showplace Theater image
First a disclaimer. I am a puppeteer. That being said I’ve seen many MANY crappy puppet shows. Fortunately the artistic team at The Showplace chooses only the best performers to do shows. Their Summer line up of performers was a who’s who of performers from across the USA. Their fall line up is even better. Go see a show. Just go. See more..

This place is a gem! My kids had a lot of fun at their summer camp. The owners were friendly and fun. The kids painted at least 3 pieces a day (all of which were nice quality ceramics) and were treated to lunch, ice-cream and other fun activities. They declared it their favorite camp this summer! Eureka Puzzles and Games image
Went in looking for good 2-player board and card games, having no particular idea what games might work. The staff member available (Elizabeth - if anyone has the power to, I hope they give you a pay rise) had tons of great suggestions, all of which she had played herself so she could answer all questions I had. Really lovely and listened carefully to what I was hoping to find in order to find the right games. If I lived locally this would be my go-to spot for expanding my board game collection, and probably for buying gifts. Great little gem. See more..

The Waldstein Playground is a nice facility for young children. There are playful water fountains in the Summer and gentle slopes for tobogganing in the Winter. There are tennis courts and basketball hoops also. An excellent urban park! See more..
  7. 5.0 Brookline Farmers Market (2 reviews)
    - Cyndi the Spectacular Fish Lady
    Flea & Street Markets
    Brookline Farmers Market image
There is nothing not to like about the Brookline Farmer's Market. All of the produce is, obviously, seasonal, but also superb. You can get fresh berries, sweet corn, tomatoes, lettuce, herbs, exquisite mushrooms, but, above all, pristine fresh fish from Cyndi the Fish Lady. Cyndi always has an excellent selection of mostly local fresh fish including striped bass (in season), halibut, blue fin tuna, swordfish, blue fish, scallops and much much more. I challenge you to find any fish better than what she has. If you're in Brookline, go to the Thursday Farmer's Market beginning at 1:30. See more..
  8. 5.0 Bebe Spa Brookline (1 review)
    - Great pedi with a friend
Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Spas
We called ahead and made an appointment for a pair of pedis and it was a warm, welcoming, and relaxing experience. They have light essential oils diffused and the wonderful women that were working there when we went were wonderful. Ana was the woman that did my pedi and it is still beautiful more than a week later. This is a nail salon in the back and a hair salon in the middle and there is a little shop at the front on the street level. This is not a full spa though they do waxing and threading as well. Check out their services in the link. Accessibility: There are stairs to get to both the hair and nail areas. Call ahead if stairs are an issue, they may be able to adjust accordingly. See more..
  9. 5.0 Southwest Day Spa (1 review)
    - A Tranquil Place
    Spas
I have been a customer of Southwest Day Spa for more than 15 years. Levina Deslandes takes great pride in her services, the training of her staff, and maintains an impeccable spa. Services are amazing. She offers a wide range of services for the health and well-being of her clientele. My favorites include deep-tissue massage, a masterful pedicure and vitamin c facial. Stop in and experience a calm oasis near the St Mary’s stop on Beacon Street. See more..
  10. 5.0 Village Vinyl & Hi-Fi (1 review)
    - Great little store with wide selection

I love this place! Great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Not a lot of space but it’s packed, and if you can’t find it upstairs they may have it in the basement. A reasonable mix of used and new vinyl at fair prices. Recently they acquired an amazing jazz collection which is slowly appearing in the stock. They also sell used and refurbished stereo gear at reasonable prices. See more..

  13. 4.5 Larz Anderson Park (93 reviews)
    - Ice Skating at a family friendly rink
    Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Parks
    Larz Anderson Park image
My wife is from the area, and she suggested that we bring our kids there on a beautiful January Sunday to ice skate. My eldest was not keen on doing this, but after seeing his brother and I skating decided to join in. They have plenty of the rigid plastic "guides" for off-rink skating and learning and that was the bonus for them to get them warmed up. Very family friendly, good pricing, plenty of skates to rent, and its entirely outdoors (which is best on a sunny day). Enjoy the mild winter we are having! Great music to skate to, as well. Just ten minutes from downtown Boston and nestled inside the 64 beautiful acres of Larz Anderson Park, the Museum is home to “America’s Oldest Car Collection”. These automobiles form the Museum’s permanent collection and are housed within the Carriage House, built in 1888 and designed by the city architect of Boston, Edmund M. Wheelwright, who was also responsible for several notable Boston structures like the Boston Public Library. The Larz Anderson Auto Museum also offers enjoyable and informative tours, with varied and in-depth discussions on the automobile and its impact on society. Aside from the tour, we offer four different educational programs that range from kindergarten to high school and cover a variety of topics from early transportation to automotive design. Each tour offers hands on artifacts and real life observational tools. 20. 4.5 Gateway Arts (3 reviews)
    - Sincere and unique art! And you can buy it!
Sunday: Spent 1-2 hours Speciality & Gift Shops • Art Galleries
    Gateway Arts image
Gateway Arts is a gallery and shop, and a place for disabled artists to make art. The public may not be aware of the latter, because the storefront is just that, a store with excellent displays (because the art is so good). It is in a charming walkable neighborhood in Brookline, so you will be able to walk down the block to a coffee shop and admire your purchase(s), too. I couldn't resist an embroidered pillow that lured me in. Very colorful, and it vibrates with passion and soul. The price tag indicated that it is the flag of France, see the photo I have attached. A great place to do some holiday shopping or indulge in something that you can't resist. And you will be helping support their excellent art program and the artists, too (they receive a nice chunk of the proceeds on the work they sell.) Go, go, go!!! See more..
