Got our tickets online for $20 (tax not included) for a regular vehicle for up to 8 persons between Sunday - Thursday. We drove up after lunch to tour the caverns. There was an older couple selling the tickets and working in the small gift shop. They were not very friendly but perhaps they were having a bad day?! Our guide, Eric, was very good and knowledgeable regarding cave info & history. We had six in our group. Let me say this is a beautiful cavern, smaller, with so many stairs. So many stairs. I was out of breath several times. I would not recommend taking small children or old folks as the stairs are pretty steep and hand rails are thick and rough and pretty slick in areas. We intended to go to the gift shop after our tour. It was locked up! Pretty disappointed. See more..

October 15, 2022 attended wedding at Steele Creek Lodge. Venue was made even more stunning by the breathtaking fall colors in the rolling hills around the lake. Too pretty for words. Lodge looks like a log cabin nestled in the woods. Parking was ample, lodge offers indoor and outdoor seating and the indoor has a large rock fireplace for picture taking/staging. Ample room for tables and dancing inside and out. There were about 50 people attending and the space was perfect. Ceremony outside and reception inside, just steps away. Lovely place. $2.00 entry fee per car at the front gate, which is unbeatable! Love Steele Creek. See more..

The MXC theater is an awesome experience. The sound is incredible and the push button reclining (lazy boy) seats are very comfortable. Another feature that I enjoyed was the room between the foot of the reclined seat and the next row of seats; even with the seat reclined another person can walk past you without you having to move your foot rest. Stopped here again on our travels down I-81. This welcome center is very nice. It is spacious and clean. They have a nice separate room that looks like a cabin with visitor information. Fortunate to have called and booked a tour in advance, we were lucky to visit the inside of this house. Even though Tennessee Ernie Ford is part of a different generation, it was great to learn so much about this amazing man and its influence on American TV and country music. Brenda was kind to open the house and show us a lot of great pictures and history about Tennessee Ernie Ford. I would highly recommend booking a tour to learn about this legend for $5 per person. Tour should take less than 30 minutes, but worth learning about him and connecting the dots through the country museum in Bristol, VA. See more..
