  1. 5.0 Encounter Africa Safaris (298 reviews)
    - 11 Day Uganda Tour
    Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM City Tours • Multi-day Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Encounter Africa Safaris image
We had an amazing time on our 11 day tour with Encounter Africa Safaris that we did in June. Our trip consisted of two days of gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, rhino tracking, lots of game drives, a few river cruises, Murchison falls, and so much more. Monica was incredibly helpful in arranging our tour and provided us with a very detailed itinerary. The food on our trip was incredible as well as the accommodations. Silas was our guide and he was excellent. He went above and beyond for us. He is very knowledgeable about Uganda and his industry. He was able to answer any question we had and spot animals that we wouldn’t have seen ourselves, like a leopard very far away in a tree. He also showed us around Kampala after our tour was over and drove us to the airport when we were flying back home. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without him. We can’t recommend this company enough to anyone looking to travel to Uganda. See more..
  2. 5.0 Africa Adventure Safaris (239 reviews)
    - A truly unique trip in a beautiful country.
    Friday: 8:00 AM - 10:30 PM Safaris
    Africa Adventure Safaris image
I travelled to Uganda in Febuary 2022 wth my son and 23 year old grandson on this "trip of a lifetime." Despite our trip being cancelled twice due to covid and KLM changing our flights Mclean and the team at Africa Adventure Safaris designed a fantastic holiday for us which went off without a single problem. We saw everything we wanted to see and more due in no small part to our driver-guide,Kenneth Muhindi ,who was amazing with a vast knowledge of the flora, fauna, culture and history of Uganda. We opted for the budget accomodation and were expecting some sort of permanent tents but got beautiful thatched ,en-suite lodges and the food was excellent everywhere we stayed. The trip was full on with long days but more than fullfilled all our expectations especially the time spent with the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest-a truly emotional experience. We could not fault the trip, the itinerary or the organisation and would highly recommend Africa Adventure Safaris . See more..

If you are looking to book a tour guide to enhance your visit to Uganda, I highly recommend Kyobe John and his travel company Kyobe Safaris! He is professional, experienced, and thorough with the planning process. From our first meeting to plan our itinerary to drop off at Entebbe Airport, Kyobe made the process easy and enjoyable! We did a 10-day tour that included Lake Mburo National Park, Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, visiting the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi region, doing multiple safaris in Queen Elizabeth National Park, going to Fort Portal, and visiting Murchison falls with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, before heading back to Kampala. Up until May 2021, Rhino Fund Uganda was located on Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Nakitoma, Nakasongola. Rhino Fund Uganda withdrew from the sanctuary due to a land conflict that could not be resolved. Currently Ziwa is the only place in Uganda where you can see rhino in the wild. This conservation project was self-sustained and the activities fees that were paid by you with some long term donors, was our source of income. Rhino Fund Uganda is currently negotiating a new MOU with UWA and MTWA and new land to start another rhino sanctuary in Uganda. We will keep you updated on the progress. The MID RANGE accommodation on the sanctuary is privately owned and managed. Check them out on Trip Advisor : Amuka Safari Lodge See more..

    Lake Victoria image
A boat trip on Lake Victoria is a must do! Either take one of the fancy ones (on a speed boat) new UWEC or the shared one (near 2 Friends Guest house). Try to go on the sunset trip - the views are fabulous. Including watching the planes land at the nearby Entebbe airport. 24. 4.5 Rubaga-Kathedrale (63 reviews)
    - A small resemblance of Notre-Dame
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Rubaga-Kathedrale image
This Cathedral is located on Lubaga Hill and maybe that’s reason it gets a lot of attention from far away. The façade has a small resemblance of Notre-Dame in Paris, albeit the entrance of Rubaga Cathedral has only one. The Cathedral has also a painting of the Ugandan Martyrs. In times of Covid, the Cathedral is doing a great job keeping the social distance. See more..

    Buggala Island image
I have been to Buggala Island several times in the last 4 years. It has become my favorite island spot with all its activities, relaxation and nature galore. The area of the island most visited is the Kalangala district side. Buggala is the biggest of all the Ssese Islands. The perfect weekend escape! I've gone alone, with friends, and someone special. The island never fails to make it memorable in a great way. Spending more than just a weekend allows you to really explore all the great things it offers. My last trip was with a few friends. 2 nights at Panorama Cottages and 2 nights at Ssese Habitat Resort. See more..
  28. 4.5 Batwa Cultural Heritage (19 reviews)
    - Fantastic fun, welcoming, and super-interesting
    History Museums
    Batwa Cultural Heritage image
We did a forest walk with the Batwa pygmy tribe in Echuya forest which was an absolutely fascinating insight into how the pygmy's traditionally lived in and with the forest, taking everything that they needed (e.g. food and medicine) from the forest itself. It was amazing to see how they could pick out what they needed from the thick forest. Following this, we walked up to the top of the ridge and were greeted by the whole village and entertained with their traditional music and dance as well as a demonstration of making fire the "old-fashioned" way as well as in archery. We even got to try our hand at archery. We even got our own entourage on our way back down the hill - they really made us feel like royalty. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone in the vicinity of Lake Bunyonyi. See more..

  30. 4.5 Mpanga Central Forest Reserve (13 reviews)
    - Tranquill place nearby Kampala
Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Forests
    Mpanga Central Forest Reserve image
The place was not easy to find, even with a local driver. After the inevitable visitors book and ticket buying, you can simply walk into the jungle. There are limited number of tracks, so you cannot lost. Sometimes the tracks are wet and slippery. It is not too much to see, but some butterflies and birds are around but the walk in the dense and moist jungle undergrowth is really pleasant. See more..
