   Op het laatste moment besloten om een boottocht te maken. Aangezien we met 9 personen waren is het niet gemakkelijk om een boot te vinden die groot genoeg was. Tot we op deze site terrecht kwamen en deze boten zijn groot genoeg voor 12pers. Eerst gebeld en alles was volzet. Uiteindelijk belden ze ons nog terug op omdat ze toch nog een boot gevonden hadden voor ons. We waren heel blij met alle moeite die ze gedaan hadden voor ons.
   Zeer vriendelijke mensen. Alles heel goed uitgelegd en we konden snel vertrekken. We kregen een vaarkaart met extra uitleg. Er was alleen even een miscommunicatie met het terug uur. Maar dit is opgelost zonder problemen.

   De Windhond is een ronde stenen molen die 1785 in Woerden is gebouwd. De molen staat op één van de laatste stukjes stadswal, die oorspronkelijk deel uit maakte van een bastion, behorend bij de stadswallen van het oude Woerden. In 1984 is de molen gerestaureerd en vandaag de dag is deze als korenmolen nog steeds in gebruik. Het meel van de molen wordt op de wekelijkse streekmarkt verkocht! De molen kan regelmatig bezocht worden, de entree bedraagt 2 euro. Ook kan de molen worden bezocht onder begeleiding van een Gilde gids. See more..

    I was waiting for my bus near to Woerden station walking around... And suddenly among beautiful but a little bit hectic at that time dutch streets I found a park. I went in and was shocked: "How is this possible to find such a place in the middle of a city?!" Amazing colorful autumn trees, canals, birds, fatties (sheep, swans and ducks, all of them are extremely cute), NATURE! I enjoyed walking there for an hour!     Het Klooster ( the Monastery) was built in 1899 voor the Franciscan order but since 19778 it was owned by the local government. Once it was a music school and it is now the theatre of Woerden.     Op het sfeervolle Kerkplein van Woerden bevindt zich naast de Hervormde Petruskerk de Petrustoren, deze toren stamt uit 1384 en is plus minus 58 meter hoog. De toren bestaat uit 203 treden en de klim bestaat uit een aantal etappes. Op iedere tussenverdieping stopt het gezelschap onder leiding van een gids van het Gilde die er vertelt over de geschiedenis van Woerden, de toren, de immense klokken en de schilderwerken van de stad. Beklim de Petrustoren voor een prachtig uitzicht over Woerden en de regio. Iedere 2e en 4e zaterdag van de maand worden er speciale torenrondleidingen in de Petrustoren georganiseerd. De beklimming starten om 13.00, 14.00 en 15.00 uur. Voor kaarten kunt u terecht bij de VVV Woerden. De Petruskerk wordt op dezelfde dagen opengesteld als de Petrustoren. Daarnaast is de Petruskerk wat meer dagen opengesteld. De Hervormde Gemeente Woerden opent zijn deuren speciaal voor bezoekers om het prachtige interieur van de Petruskerk te bewonderen.     The 28m high water tower is located at the north side of Woerden. It was built in 1908 and it was used until 1979. I'm not sure if you can visit it because it stands among some houses behind a fence, the fence was open by the way. The door of the water tower self was closed.     Het fraaie historische dorpje Kamerik tussen Woerden en de Nieuwkoopse Plassen is een prettige stop op een fietstochtje door het moerasgebied.De 15de eeuwse toren van de Hippolytuskerk is een mooi overblijfsel uit de late Middeleeuwen.De rest van het kleine kerkje dateert uit 1833-1834 en het kerkje is dus een mooie combinatie van 15de eeuwse en 19de eeuwse architectuur.Het historische kleine dorpje Kamerik is gelegen aan een lange rechte sloot met veel waterlelies en moerasvegetatie als zwanebloemen en gele lis.     The Castle of Woerden was built round 1410. It has a square floor plan, consisting of four wings around a courtyard with steeply lowered towers at the corners. It was originally a defense work and then an administrative centre of Woerden. In the 19th century it was a prison and in 1873 was used by the department of defense. Nowadays it's a location for wedding, party, congress and such.     Walking around in Woerden, we found this chatolic church at the corner of the shopping area, near the castle of Woerden. It is neo-Gothic style. The tower is crowned with a spire with flanking turrets. The church is opened limited due to the situation at this moment, 10.00 am-12.00 am.     They were told that part of our group only spoke English yet the whole tour was in Dutch, no written English resources, no audio resources in English, no attempt to speak English even periodically and the guide talked too quickly for our translator to keep up. No English safety directions in the boat, and no indication that we were stopping or starting or the direction we were going in either. Just played follow the leader really. At one point we were waking in some tunnels in a big building, I indicated to the guide I didn’t know what was happening but he didn’t attempt to clarify anything in English.
