   We had a very enjoyable visit to this open air museum. The historic buildings are scattered through the woods making for a very pleasant walk around. There are some animals to see as well. You can enter the buildings and they are mocked up to show how people lived not that long ago. We were given a guide book in English for 1 Euro when we asked, worth it to explain what you're looking at. The inn/cafe halfway round was much better than expected with a quite extensive menu (not in English and as neither our German nor Dutch is up to much we guessed slightly. We had a lovely meal (savoury pancakes, sausage and chips) in a nice setting. Also a play park area for the kids. We visited with a boisterous 9 year old and another family.    After the reconstruction in 1959, the grave looks at least like the original one. It's a small grave but very special one because it was a passage grave, a grave that consists of one or more burial chambers covered in earth or with stone. It's why you see that partly covered by a cover hill. Beside that , the name "Papeloze kerk" ( peopeless church) has also a history about preaching without a priest. See more..

   We kwamen eigenlijk een soort van per ongeluk bij dit natuurgebied terecht. Het ligt tussen Zweeloo en Schoonoord. We zochten een plek om te wandelen. Er zijn parkeerplaatsen daar. Een bord met info en routes erop.
   
   We zijn de ‘Mierenroute’ gaan lopen , daarbij volg je de gele bordjes. De route is 5 km.
   Heel gevarieerd gebied; bos met naald -en loof bomen, weide, vennetjes, dichtbegroeid bos, open stukken, brede paadjes, smalle paadjes, recht, krom, heide gebied. Hooglanders grazen daar. Grote mierenhopen kom je tegen het einde van de route tegen (vandaar de naam)
