   Very nice for a day trip on a small boat. Vecht and surroundings are stunning, both nature and ancient houses that origin from the Golden Age. Sailing from Weesp to Utrecht will take some 6-7 hours. Starting half way near Breukelen in either direction will give you the advantage of some boat rental adresses and you will be able to sail the Vecht on your way back on the same day. See more..

   We visited the windmill with a big family of 10 people. Because of the amount of persons, we were split into two simultaneous groups, one starting from the top, the other starting from the bottom. We were told and shown about everything there could be known about windmills, concerning history, mechanics and business with much enthusiasm and knowledge. The mill is very well cared for, still working and in use. It is definitely worth a visit. There even is a beautiful little café viewing onto the Vecht. See more..

   It looks like a normal "Sluis" ( Lock) but this Mijndense sluis is very important for the connection between the river Vecht and Loosdrechtse Plassen ( kind of a lake). It's a very old lock, since the 15th century. The best way to see this site is walking as the road is narrow and no parking place along the road. See more..
