   We went on a day trip with the children and drove a super fun tour. the children learned a lot from the audio in the cars. Enjoyed the impressive dunes and we went to a beautiful beach bar where we had a cup of coffee. Its fun to drive the cars and recommended for a sunny day but also when Its a rainy day. See more..

   We were going to Keukenhof Gardens, and had arrived early. Near the car park was a kiosk for Rent-a-Bike van Dam. The people were helpful and the price was very good too in my opinion. It was very easy to pay and get started on the spot. The bikes for fine for a rental. The really exceptional part was that there are different routes they recommend on a pamphlet - with expected timings, and the routes are all signposted!! We had never been in the region before, but we're able to see lovely tulip fields on our own, enjoy the biking and not worry about getting lost or not getting back in time. (We opted for the 3 hour rental which was great for our timings - there are longer or shorter bike route options.) I highly recommend the experience. :) See more..

    As we're in the bulb area we passed this church and decided to visit it. We were glad that we stopped and were able to enjoy the beauty of this church. For a catholic church in the Netherlands, this church is quite a new one ( 1902-1903 ) so I would not say that the painting on the wall or ceiling are seccos. But the church's wall are all covered with colour, as well painting as ceramic. With all the stainned glass windows I can say it is a beautiful church. It is worth a visit. See more..

    Delightful cycling through the Tulip fields with friendly and charming guides Irene and Erwin. We could not stop smiling. We very much appreciated the video and photos of our ride. Thank you, Irene! The cycling is fun and on mostly flat terrain. The bikes are great and easy to ride. We learned a bit about how these small farms create such beautiful tulips, hyacinths and Dahlias. Lisse is a beautiful town. Go back and have lunch after your ride. Absolutely recommend.     We had trouble finding this location which turned out to have moved offices due to construction, however when we arrived our bikes were ready and waiting just outside of the hotel/casino. We rented a few standard city bikes which were perfect for our needs and comfortable and straightforward to ride. Our 13 year old daughters were a bit short for this bike, however they made it work and all was fine. This site is close to the Kuekenhoff and adjacent to gorgeous flower fields! We did a beautiful, bucket list type of ride along the fields to Hillegom, which was the perfect little town about 3 miles into our ride to stop for great photos and some ice cream at the bakery, grab sunscreen at the pharmacy and water and a snack at the market. There were also little shops and some dining options. I would rent from this site again as it was so convenient and close to the fields. We had to uber back to Amsterdam, however there is a train in Hillagom to take you back to Amsterdam (with a stop switch at the airport). See more..
