De brouwerij heet het brouwgilde abdij Rolduc bevind zich op het terrein van de abdij. Diverse heerlijke speciale bieren zoals de brenge pater een heerlijk wat zwaarder bruin bier. Ook de blonde non is erg lekker, net als de overige biertjes. Ook zijn er leuke geschenken te koop, in het winkeltje. Het personeel is vriendelijk en erg enthousiast.

My partner's daughter had a really good fun hour spent here. There were far more things to do than back at home. You could even have a fight on a beam like the Gladiators programme of ten years ago. We enjoyed a ballet performance at the Kerkrade Theatre. There is plenty of free parking close to the theatre compared to the nearby Heerlen Theatre were you need to pay to use the indoor parking garage which is attached to theatre. The theatre is housed in the same building as the city library, a very contemporary set up which works. We enjoyed our visit and will return! See more..

This lovely chapel was built by Franciscan friars and now belongs to the Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) Masses according to the missal of John XXIII are offered every weekend (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) and on Feast days. The sermon is in German, as most of the young(!) congregants are from Germany. Confessions are available before every Mass during the recitation of the rosary. On Fridays there is Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The priest speaks German, English and French. The altars, communion rail and organ were all handmade by the friars and they are still there. It feels like if you are going down to a green valley. I understood the elevation difference with the town center is caused by the fact there used to be a garbage dump here. In the 1950s it was converted into a park. I visited on a very hot day in July and the park felt cool, probably also because of the bodies of water and not just the trees. See more..

Je kunt je eigen circuit kiezen om te proberen ronde na ronde je tijd te verbeteren.
Na het eerste half uur word gekeken hoe je je gedraagt op de baan en waar winst valt te behalen.
Hierdoor gaat de rondetijd het tweede half uur zeker omlaag.

Vandaag de baalsbruggermolen bezocht tijdens de open monumentendag. Het was er druk maar de sfeer was ver te zoeken. Zeer slecht georganiseerd. De molen is de enige abdijmolen van nederland maar is nog niet eens gerestaureerd. De molen draait op een motor omdat het waterwiel ontbreekt. Ook zijn er bouwputten in de nabijheid. Het was eigenlijk geen bezichtiging waard. Een zootje onder elkaar en erg vieze toilet. Zoals de titel al zegt tja!!
