Ask them about renting an old fashioned solex to tour the area. Friendly, cooperative, very willing! You go to the Doornenburg Castle (have a tour while you are there anyway) and need a full day if tou take the drie pontjes route, including lunch and swimming en route. See more..
  2. 4.5 Kasteel Doornenburg (58 reviews)

This is a gem, really well executed with the vantage point on top giving a great view of the split in the Rhine as well as give you some great info about what you are looking at in the different directions of the compass. Great for families with school children, great for the curious historian or the traveller that wants to see something a little off the beaten track. Great restaurant close by as well as the restaurant inside the fort. Nice to have the electric tuk-tuks for those that need a ride from the parking lot. Great modern take on a historic place! Bring sensible walking shoes and take the hike to the tip and the "split of the Rhine" as well. See more..
