   We rented one of the "fluisterbootjes" at De Gouw. A "fluisterboot" is an electric driven small metal basic boot. The boats are perfect to cross through the World Heritage site De Beemster. Which is a fantastic experience. At de Gouw they provide you with a map of the area, including tips for stops during your trip. You hire the boat for a day, which is sufficient to explore the area. We made tour of 6 hours and enjoyed every minute. Tip: Rent a luxury chair with your boat. These are really comfortable. The boats are well maintained and the people at De Gouw are super friendly.    It is located in the centre of De Rijp. An old town hall from 1630 is the tourist information centre on the ground floor and also "De Waag" where in earlier years, among other things, livestock and products from agriculture and industry were weighed.    A Dutch Reformed Church in the village of De Rijp in the municipality of Graft-De Rijp, North Holland province. This late-Gothic church is where the Christian worship and other religious meetings are held. A church is also called House of prayer, prayer house, God's house or temple. This was built in the period 1538 to 1529. The village fire of 1654 engulfed the Church largely in flames. The Church was thereafter rebuilt. Many prominent donors made this church interior awesome like the stained glass windows, the pulpit, the baptism garden, the organ and the ship model hanged up high. Next to the church is the statue of the 17th-century sailor Jan Janszoon Weltevree (in Korea Pak Yon) from De Rij. He was in Korea was captured and brought to the Advisor of the emperor.    Bootverhuur het Ouweland is the best place to rent a boat for one or two hours. Good boats, with an electric motor, nice helpfull staff and they provide you with a map of the canals and polders, so that you can actually make a nice tour. We had a two hour boat rental, and the tour was exactly two hours, so nicely planned by the company. We enjoyed the views, the birds, the cows and the sheep.    This church is seen along the main thoroughfare of Rechtestraat close to the library of De Rijp. I appreciate history of a place and in here can be seen the treasures in paintings and many more about the village and its people. Worth the visit. Lovely village. Nice scenery of the polders around.     Elly Baltus, the artist who made this statue used all recycles materials she could find to built the figure of Jan Jansz.Weltevree. As a sailor from De Rijp, who stranded on Korean coast in 1626, became an advisor of the Emperor and died in Korea and commonly known as Pak Yon (master Jan), the artist didn't have any clue how to make that statue as she didn't have any picture of him. What she knew that Jan Jansz. was an expert on weapons. Finally she could make a statue using all her imagination, a figure of a man in korean clothes with all things she could use such as cameras, toy-car, radios, a ship's pulley and sail, Japanese umbrellas, rifles and various trade items from the past and present.
