All routes are expertly developed with high quality material. Safety has the highest priority. You climb in Apeldoorn with a continuous zeker system so you can safely climb independently. Everything is TÜV-certified. This Klimbos has 9 different routes where the level and the heights differ per route. The perfect getaway for young and old! You can climb from the age of 7 years and start with the 3 junior routes at a height of 2 to 7 meters. Please note, the child must have a height of 1.20m. A visit to Klimbos Veluwe takes about 3.5 hours, including instruction. Afterwards you can enjoy a drink or an ice cream. This team trains and the museum are staffed run by 160 knowledgeable and passionate volunteers. The facilities are impeccable. We took the luncheon train. The food was mediocre but sitting in the restaurant car and having table service was quite nice. The scenery abutting the train tracks ran past industrial areas but overall it was a lovely trip. The bi-annual paper art exhibition always amazes the visitor by new creative ways to use paper in art. This year's top attraction for me was Zimoun. A to the ceiling tower of cardboard boxes, with a rithmic sound by a small device on the inner ring for each box. Upstairs is a photo exhibition of portraits in black and white of well known public figures. Intensely human in their close up and detail. I always enjoy the restaurant's coffee and a nice lunch. Unbeknownst to us a visiting well known Dutch organist was playing that evening which was a real treat. It's all about having fun. The competition pool is a free for all on a busy weekend. On the flip side, on colder rainy days, you can often get the entire competition pool to yourself! Matenpark is seemingly an undiscovered jewel; I was surprised to not see it on here. I say that because it's surprisingly well-equipped for being a residential park; nestled on all sides by housing, it has a skatepark and a number of fun little things to do, like crossing the water via balancing, pulling yourself across, or stepping on chains.
