Pulau Ubin is a Island near to the changi airport. Best you take a taxi to Changi Ferry Terminal (25-30 minutes from downtown Marina). A bus or a combination subway-bus will take at least 80 minutes. The taxi fair is about 25 SGD, From the terminal you take the ferry (3 SGD each way). In 10 minutes you will reach a wonderful island. You may discover the island by walking or even can rent a bicycle. I prefer the walk as you have more time to enjoy the nature. Watch up for the monkeys. They will steel any food or drinks you have. See more..
  3. 4.5 Wei Tuo Fa Gong Temple (7 reviews)

Wei Tuo Fa Gong Temple image
Our family visited the temple during one of their celebrations on the 21st of December. We are not Buddhist but were welcomed into the temple as enthusiastically as if we were, and quickly offered food and drinks by those inside. Some of those attending the ceremony were quick to come over to us and explain parts of the temple/ceremony to us in English. They also encouraged us to join in the celebrations and meet the Monks who were just as warm and friendly to us. It was an incredibly humbling and hear-warming experience we will never forget. Thank you so much! We will be back again soon I am sure. See more..

  7. 4.0 Ketam Mountain Bike Park (17 reviews)
    - Ketam MTB weekend
Spent More than 3 hours Biking Trails
    Ketam Mountain Bike Park image
I visited the park after finishing work in the city. This is a great way to finish a business trip. Got a taxi to the Changi Ferry. Rented a brand new bike for 35 bucks and rode Ketam loop twice and explored the island the balance of the day. Hard tail rental was OK for this trail. A few technical sections, but overall I would rate as Intermediate trails. See more..
  8. 4.0 German Girl Shrine (17 reviews)
    - Worth visiting!
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Mysterious Sites
    German Girl Shrine image
In my opinion, this is certainly a spot that deserves a visit. It is better to take a bike to visit this spot as it is not in the immediate vicinity of the Pulau Ubin jetty. The story goes that before WW1 broke out, a German family was living here and when the hostilities started, the British military rounded up the Germans at this plantation. The teenager daughter fled into the woods and a few days later, her body was discovered. Today there is a simple shrine dedicated to her, with some candles at the altar and some joss sticks. No entry fee is required. It is set in tranquil settings and one can spend some time here, pondering the past of this place and this island. See more..
