  1. 5.0 Yunnan Garden (2 reviews)

  3. 4.5 Pandan Reservoir (4 reviews)
    - A weekend morning walk
Spent 2-3 hours Bodies of Water
    Pandan Reservoir image
My review is kind of compared with the Bedok Reservoir (East) walk I'm more familar with. The Pandan Reservoir walk is a 6kms loop. There is no tree cover so make sure you carry some caps, especially if you're walking during the day. There are long stretches when you might not find a bench. In the whole loop, there are only (if I remember right) 2 or 3 places which are covered. And except for about a kilometer near the main road, there is no possibility to take public transport and cut short the work. So a good place to go if you 'need' to go for a longer walk. See more..
  4. 4.5 Raffles Marina Lighthouse (3 reviews)
    - Quite a distance to get there but beautiful sunset
    Lighthouses
    Raffles Marina Lighthouse image
The location is quite a distance to get to but it was complemented with a nice sunset besides the lighthouse. I took the MRT east west line all the way to Tuas Link which is the last station. The Raffles Marina is behind the train station which is less than 10 minutes walk. The lighthouse is accessible through the clubhouse. If you are out here for sunset photography, the best time to arrive is around 5 pm when the heat is not so excruciating. Otherwise, settle for a few drinks at the club’s restaurant while waiting for the temperature to ease a bit. It’s a nice scenery of luxury boats parked at the Marina. The second link Tuas bridge connecting Singapore and Malaysia as well as the Malaysian Forest City are visible from here, which makes some interesting subjects for the sunset seascape photography. The lighthouse is extremely popular. It’s crowded. So you might want to shoot some of the scene much earlier before the crowd sets in. See more..

  7. 4.0 Westgate Shopping Mall (94 reviews)
    - Westgate Shopping Mall
    Spent 1-2 hours Shopping Malls
    Westgate Shopping Mall image
Westgate mall was built as a first class mall on the west side of Singapore. The original tenants are mostly first class stores. However, the area wasn’t ready for a first class mall at that time. Soon most of the higher class tenants started to move out after their lease expired. The mall started to slide in class as average class tenants replaced the original tenants. Now, Westgate has become an average class mall and because of its location the traffic is still rather busy. Jurong West Swimming Complex image

  12. 3.5 Castelle de Beaute (4 reviews)
    - Best Budget-Friendly Pampering Facial in SG!
    Spas
Achieving radiant, flawless skin does not have to be an expensive one! Castelle de Beaute, one of the beauty pioneers near Jurong East Mrt had been one of the recommendations I heard; and I finally went for a hydration facial for $48 only! (Usual price at $138). Not only did they use the award-winning ATACHE skin care products, with long-experienced therapists and a quiet ambience, Castelle is one of the best budget facial place for me - who appreciated a peaceful, therapeutic experience the most in a value-for-money way. 17. 3.0 Yunnan Park (1 review)
    - Some history concerning this park
    Parks
There is a National Monument in this park and it is the original Nantah Arch. The replica arch is located inside the Yunnan Garden of Nanyang Technological University. In the old days, the cars and buses would pass through the original arch from the Old Upper Jurong Road to Nanyang University. However this area is now a residental area and this park is now a neighbourhood park. From Pioneer mrt station, it is an easy walk along Jurong West Park Connector to reach this park in about 7 mins. 19. 2.5 Maxicab Taxi in Singapore (2 reviews)
    - Good luck with catching a taxi in Singapore
    Multi-day Tours • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Taxis & Shuttles • Private Tours • Self-Guided Tours & Rentals • Day Trips
    Maxicab Taxi in Singapore image
It would be your lucky day if your taxi driver was a Chinese man as they do have dignity and honestly. Thanks for that, guys. But if your taxi driver is Indian man your fun day is ruined as you might realise that they just rip you off by going around or take a longer way to go. In my experience, we used taxi quite a few time while in Singapore. Every time if taxi driver is a Chinese man we know we are in a good hand. This is how Singaporean should be, you know, self discipline, ideology.. So be aware but still enjoy your holidays. See more..
