The Guajataca State Forest is worth the effort it takes to get there. From the north take route 2 to route 446 and go south. The road becomes narrow and curvy. Once at the park check in with the office. It’s free to hike the park, but they took our name and noted the trail we intended to hike. Bathrooms are available near the office but may be locked. The park attendant on hand when we arrived was friendly. However, he did not speak English and we do not speak Spanish. If you’re hiking the interpretive trail be sure to take a picture of the map before you start the hike. There’s no internet service at parts of the trail. See more..

Beautiful place. The blue color of the ocean is spectacular. However, be very careful. It is too easy to stumble with the rocks in this area; and there is nothing to keep visitors from falling down into the rocks and rough ocean. Stay away at least 10 feet. A hidden treasure in Isabela. See more..

This beach was interesting to get to. Drive down the little road and then on the right there is a small road to enter to the gated area where you can pay for parking and walk much, much less to get to the beach area. Umbrellas and chairs for rent are available. The water is clear and calm. A lovely place to spend a relaxing day. Would definitely visit again. See more..
