The place is amazing and the government needs to take better care of it. We visited in Summer 2021 and the place was full of visitors. The camping spots are full of trash, people don't pick after themselves and there is no visible waste management. The government needs to invest more money into basic infrastructure like trash containers, long drop toilet areas and fine the heck out of people who pollute the environment. See more..

We recently did a winter migration trip in Mongolia with Sayat Travel and it was a wonderful experience. Erlan and his crew were fantastic and took great care of us. Pre-trip communication was very easy and smooth. All communication was done via WhatsApp and Erlan was prompt in his replies. He was also able to answer all the questions we had regarding the trip, climate, packing essentials, etc. Although changes had to be made along the way (both prior and during the trip), Erlan was resourceful and managed to find alternatives for us pretty quickly. There were also extra winter clothings prepared for us, in case we didn’t have enough to battle the freezing temperatures of Mongolia. Airport transfers and domestic flights were all pre arranged; and upon arrival in Ulgii, the starting point for our migration, we were handed over to Erlan’s crew who took care of us for the rest of the trip. The crew consisted of a guide, drivers, cook and ground support. They were all very professional and friendly. We got along well despite the language barrier. The entire experience of migrating with the nomadic family, helping them herd their animals in the day and interacting with them in the evenings, was an unforgettable one. I signed up for Mt Khuiten mountaineering expedition with Altai Nomads and it was a great experience. Syerik and his team looked after me very well from the time in landed and departed from Ulgii.He started off by taking me to see Janisbek,the eagle hunter and the following day we drove to the park.The hike was quite difficult due to the weather and terrain but the views were breathtaking. I had a couple of extra days after my hike and Syerik immediately prganised a trip to Lake Khoton at no extra charge which was very nice of him. After a 2yr wait (Covid), we made it to Mongolia in early July with help from Sabit, owner/guide/photographer of Jolaush Travel. My daughter & I fell ill a few days before the trip, so Sabit helped to revise our itinerary so that we did not over exert ourselves. We stayed at the Elikti countryside for a few days in a ger with his extended family instead, then completed the rest of the original itinerary. The countryside stay was a much needed tonic - trek to the river, walks to the lakes, fishing, watched sheep shearing & milking, road trips, etc. His kids/nieces/nephews were such delight and joined us: it would'nt have been the same without them! We had quite a few pre-trip preparation issues, and Sabit helped us with great patience. He noted our diet and had the affable chef Alia cook as appropriate. He has so much knowledge to share, is kind and thoughtful and goes out of his way to get whatever we need. We hope to return in a year or 2 to climb Malchin Peak with him. See more..

This trip was spectacular! Dosjan from Kazakh Tours was excellent in his attention to detail in creating a unique experience, creative food given the limitations and personal cultural experience with the Kazakhs and Eagle Hunters. This is the best tour I ever did in my life and I can’t emphase more that it couldn’t have been possible without Dauit. I don’t think I could have found a better guide in Western Mongolia than him. He was flexible, caring, funny and knowledgeable. He did more for me than I could imagine. Not only did he took great care of every aspects of the trip, he also took care of me when I got sick and he was also always there if I needed to. As a solo female traveller, I always felt safe either in nature or in the city. He even help me after my trip was over. He showed me the Kazakh and Mongol culture, their food, their beautiful people, how to play cards, how to ride Mongolian horse and many more things. A group of us travelled in a soviet style van through some beautiful scenery and ended staying the night at a Kazakh eagle hunters home after hiking mountains and lakes. The driver was incredibly kind and accommodating to our needs and the family was absolutely beautiful. They provided blankets and mats for us to sleep on and made us wonderful meals. We were also able to take photos with eagles and hold them! Overall it was a great trip. 10/10 would recommend Shery Travels. See more..

It was the trip of a lifetime! 1. The nature and the culture was amazing. I can’t describe how stunning was the snow capped mountains, green valleys and rivers we passed. We visited few Kazakh families and they were very welcoming and food was amazing. 2. The Altai expeditions also surpassed my expectations. They are very organized and efficient. The chef is like a magician, we ate better than restaurants in the middle of nowhere. Drivers were also professionals, they knew the road like the back of their palms. I have been using Nurbol services for two years and will continue to do so. I have organized with him in 2016 and 2017 two very complex winter expeditions in the Altai to ski the peaks and valley of Tavan Bogd from two high altitude base camps. Nurbol has organized the full logistics for us: setting up gerts with wood and coal for a month, plus the complex ins and outs of different groups of people from Olgi to the high altitude camps. He also organized with a lot of flexibility some side trips for us, most of the time decided at the latest minute. He was always on time and very helpful to find solutions with us especially when the harsh Mongolian weather forced us to change plans. I am 99% satisfied about these 2 months and halve working with him and his efficient and very friendly team. In addition I never had any hidden addition cost with him.
