   Went with Eternal Landscapes (small 1 women travel agency specialising in Mongolian Tours- highly recommend this agency) and it was amazing. The monastery has survived mostly in-tacked. There is redevelopment in the grounds surrounding the monastery with a revamp of the Stupa and a new 3 Golden Buddah statue now in-place. The native people visit it as a pilgrimage but it isn't over crowded. It's set in a stunningly beautiful location and you reach it by going through a beautiful valley where the nomads have located for summer grazing so there is a hive of animal activity (I visited in July). Camped close to the monastery near to a stream. The stars are night were breathtaking. Went to sleep listening to the horses enjoying their night ramble and woke up to some cattle wandering through camp. Beautiful, tranquil and the scenary is awe inspiring. See more..

   Take a glimpse into the world of Buddhism at Eej Mod. The Eej Mod experience is like no other. I accompanied a Mongolian family that insured I did everything right to bring luck to my family and grant the wishes I had. Make sure you bring rice, milk, matches, incense, and candy/cookies as offerings. The original Eej Mod has been cut down, but you can still wish and give tribute to its' stump.    - 決して観光地ではありません。抑留されその地で亡くなった1800名の日本人の墓地です。

   私自身は恥ずかしながらその存在を知りませんでした。ガイドさんにその存在を教えてもらい伺いました。
   
   シベリアで亡くなった日本人抑留者の事は知っておりましたが、シベリアからモンゴルに連れて来られ、シベリア同様過酷なその地で亡くなった日本人抑留者の方々をお祀りした墓地です。記念碑があり、中央に線が引かれ、その先は日本に向いているそうです。
   
   墓守をしてくださっているのはモンゴルの方です。記念碑の周りも綺麗に管理をしていただいてます。
   
   関係者の方々が定期的に日本からお墓参りに来られています。存在を知らなかったので何も御供えする物を持っておらず、恥ずかしかったです。墓守の方から日本からお持ちになった方が置いていかれた日本のお線香を頂きました。
   
   来年モンゴル再訪の際は、日本酒、日本のタバコ、お線香を必ず持参するつもりです。
