We went to Lakey Peak for two weeks knowing nothing about how to surf. We got two lessons from Firman and what do you know, now we're standing up on the board and even catching small waves! (It's not easy though!) He's fluent on english, very (as all the Indonesians seem to be) friendly and easy going guy, knows how to teach and is very thorough. I spent a fantastic week with my adult daughter, diving with Kalimaya dive resort. Top rating on everything. Great diving, nice resort, very friendly and welcoming staff (especially, of course the managers Tegan and Stu), impeccable service, and nice fellow divers. I can highly recommend Kalimaya! A perfect organized tour with a special tour guide. We have visited Moyo Island, did whale watching and relaxed at Sekongkang Beach on the southwest coast of Sumbawa. This island actually is a savanna island with one rock hill in the middle that can climbed. This island can be reach by boat because nearby Pototano Harbour in Sumbawa Island. From the top of the hill we can see whole white sand beach surrounding the island. Unfortunately, there is no ressort in this island so everyone who wants to stay must bring their own tent. But one more thing, you can be satisfied by snorkling arround the harbour and see gorgeous view of coral reefs with colorfull fishes. See more..

Most beautiful beaches i've ever been, many snorkling spots, there's a small hill you can hike with beautiful view. I was visited this island when the island is inhibited, but dont worry, the local goverment builds few cottages and facilities along the island now, hope it's going to open next year so you dont need bring tents to spent the night in this tiny island. Went here on a tour with Kencana Adventure Komodo Trip, the island is so small, with diameter just around 700 meters. Has a white sand all over the island, and in the center grows many Coconut trees. There is a couple who stay there during daylight, they sell young coconut and some instant noodles. The price for the coconut is less then 1 USD or 10.000 rupiahs. The beach was lovely, and you can snorkel there, but be aware because the current is quite strong in the middle. Rarely people go here, so the island and the coral still consider a virgin. Tips: 1. Bring money, the couple is poor and old, you can help them by buying the coconut. It taste good also. 2. If you are an amateur snorkel, you may need a guide. 3. Dont litter in the island. See more..

We stayed here for 2 weeks in a super quiet time of year .. it’s very peaceful .. beautiful bay .. great surf breaks .. stunning sunsets .. friendly locals We found a villa on Airbnb called sunset peak which was beautiful ... most accommodation is pretty standard Mr Wan will give you a lovely massage A chap named Andy sorts your press for you Everyone knows everyone ! Mattmas warung does a ceviche and sashimi for about £3 We ate at the lagoon mostly No ATM here the nearest in Rasabou (which is also the medical centre ) is about 20 mins by ped but didn’t work so an hour trip to Dompu for cash ( No one accepts cards here ) Balumba coffee on the sea front is the best coffee I’ve found on our travels run by a lovely local family ! As a non surfer there’s not a lot to do ... swimming and snorkelling in the bay .. play pool and ping pong ... read a book on your lounger ! See more..

As you leave the city, the countryside opens up and huge open spaces create a lovely contrast to the busy towns. A lake stretches through the valleys and is held together by the dams. I always love to come to this kind of place, they have their own stories to tell that the book of history at your school never mentioned and I was very lucky to meet such a wonderful staff that willing to explain all the things that inside the museum 1st floor had a lot of handicrafts, Keris (local weapon that also stated on one’s status), tools and also the crown that was made from golds with lots of diamonds (although they only show the picture of it ), old manuscript and steam tools that even the Dutch itself didn’t know about it (they presume it was a little canon since it really do look like canon with a rather small size) 2nd floor was the bedroom of sultan family and guest (1st Indonesia president had stayed here before), bathroom, servant room and throne area.
