-A-Class wine tour with Thomas
Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Bike Tours • Wine Tours & Tastings
Visited Medoc region with 3 friends over the weekend and our guide was Thomas. Leaving Bordeaux Thomas told us lots of historical facts as we passed various sites and monuments which was great as we didn’t get to visit the city much. His knowledge of wine is very impressive and we learned a lot en route to Margaux. Thomas was super helpful throughout the afternoon and he never pushed us to move on to the next appointment until all our questions were answered and souvenirs bought! Thank you again Thomas and I wish you continued success! I’ll be back to visit St-Emilion and will most certainly be booking Rustic Vines again. Outstanding and a pure gent as our very knowledgeable guide. See more..
- 5.0 Centre de la Mémoire d’Oradour (1.588 reviews)
-Intense location
Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites • History Museums
What an unimagionable location. My advice is to either read-in ahead of your visit or visit the adjoined museum to gain all context of what happened. Knowing the historical facts makes the visit surreal. The entrance of the town is free, you can enter the village through the museum. Inside the museum you can either buy a ticket for the exhibition, buy a map of the town or enter the village for free. See more..

-Si j’avais pu j’aurais mis 6/5 !
Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 AM Spent 1-2 hours Escape Games
Merci ! - 4.5 Place de la Bourse (6.942 reviews)
-MONUMENTAL ARCHITECTURE
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Historic Walking Areas
The principal buildings here are impressive in their own right, quite apart from the effect from the far side of the Water Mirror. The Fountain of the Three Graces is the final piece making a visit here a central part of touring in Bordeaux. A royal square, it is near the Garonne River. Part of the city walls were demolished so Louis XV could thereby celebrate himself as France [no vanity there]. The core design is neoclassical. See more..
- 4.5 The Water Mirror (6.631 reviews)

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The "Miroir d'Eau" is less than 10 years old, but located just across from a monument nearly 3 centuries old, it has become one of the city's main attractions. See more..
- 4.5 La Grande Dune du Pilat (5.420 reviews)
-Amazing view, nice area
Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM Spent More than 3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations
The highest dune in Europe, a unique landscape with an incredible panoramic view over the ocean, forest and Arcachon Bay but also and more importantly, a living, natural space that needs to be looked after and protected. Since December 2007, the Syndicat Mixte de la Grande Dune du Pilat has been working to protect and preserve this national piece of heritage that belongs to us all. From the top of this giant (109 meters high, 2,7 kilometers long, 500 meters wide), you can see many remarkable sites of the region. See more..

- 4.5 Vieux Sarlat (3.196 reviews)
-Unique French town
Points of Interest & Landmarks
If you are in the Dordogne the Sarlat must be visited. Parking is tricky but you will be rewarded by a medieval town with narrow streets and tall building. Many of the shops, of course, are designed for tourists but there are plenty of local produce and artisan products. You may have to look beyond the main streets however. See more..
- 4.5 Rocher de la Vierge (3.068 reviews)
-Good vantage point of ocean
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts • Monuments & Statues
Nice walk with good spot to take pictures. Everyone says you have to visit this …I think it’s not necessary as the city has many places to walk and take pictures and that’s it’s charm. You can come here and get a nice ocean view but I don’t think it’s a “can’t miss “ site. See more..
- 4.5 Chateau de Castelnaud (2.767 reviews)
-EXCELLENT IN MANY WAYS
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Castles
While medieval weaponry is the heart and soul of the chateau, it explores medieval life in several ways. The siege weapons impress for their size. Rooms of weapons display armour, spears, spikes, chain mail, etc. You can wander through several rooms, including the kitchen. A blacksmith is present to demonstrate his trade. All films are in French with English subtitles or the reverse. There was a good recreation of one siege. A medieval garden is laid out. The cost for an adult ticket was 11.9 euros. You will likely spend an hour to 1.5 hours here. See more..

- 4.5 La Côte des Basques (1.845 reviews)
-Three day solo visit exploring and relaxing
Beaches
I took a cheap flight at a good time from London Stansted to Biarritz in October half term. An easy 15 minute (and only £1.40) bus ride into town made reaching my hostel very easy. I stayed in a hostel called Outsite Coliving Biarritz in a fab location. Great facilities and atmosphere too. Beaches all walkable, lighthouse and views worth a walk to. Lovely market in the mornings for fresh produce (I had breakfast here of coffee and fresh eggs) When it drizzled I took myself to the Aquarium which is well worth £15 and very well presented. Lots of nice bars and places to eat, a few independent shops too. I walked everywhere but buses looked easy enough to use. I loved watching the people surfing and reading my book on the beach. A lovely safe and relaxing few days. See more..
- 4.5 Château des Milandes (1.829 reviews)
-If you only have time for one chateau, make it Milandes!
Tuesday: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Castles
Built in 1489, the stunning Chateau des Milandes in the heart of the Black Perigord on the south bank of the Dordogne became home to the black American singer and dancer Josephine Baker in 1947. Baker had become the toast of the Parisian cabaret scene in the ‘20s, being one of the most famous and highly paid entertainers of her day. A French citizen by marriage, during World War II, her status as an international star also enabled her to work covertly for the French Resistance, for which she received the Croix de Guerre. The castle is dedicated to Josephine Baker. In the grounds, bird of prey display with eagle owl and eagle; the garden is a lovely place. Brasserie is open april to first november. See more..

Worth the drive to the end of the island, great views, plentiful parking, small fee to climb the lighthouse. If you have small children or adults who wish to be children north beach access gives rock pools and interesting rock strata. There are cafes, shops but a lovely picnic site should you wish. Sadly the madding crowds are there in abundance. See more..
- 4.5 Pont Jacques Chaban Delmas (1.544 reviews)
-Good to see it in action
Bridges
We decided to walk on both sides of the river crossing the old bridge first. Then taking in the sights on the opposite bank, the Botanical Gardens and Darwin. Unfortunately we didn't take into account the bridge is raised way before a ship passes. We then had a choice to wait for the ship and the bridge to be lowered or walk back down to the old bridge. We decided to wait but it was a long wait. The bridge is closed off for a long time before the ship passes. It was good to watch the middle part of the bridge being raised, a ship passing through and the bridge being raised again but we were held up by almost 3 hours! I don't know why the bridge is closed for such a long time. I remember our guide saying it is, much to the annoyance of locals. Time your visit well and decide which side of the river you want to be on too. See more..
