We had a great experience with this friendly company, Eva took our booking by email after meeting her in Samoens square. The instruction was clear and simple and we set off in our two man canoes, our instructor and guide Karl was very patient and enthusiastic with us. We traveled through the beautiful gorge and jumped from rocks into the river and although we had never canoed before and some parts were tricky we felt supported and had a brilliant time. A fantastic experience, launched from the Aguille du Midi in beautiful sunshine. Having wanted to do a tandem jump for a few years, the opportunity to jump from over 10,000 feet was not to be missed. Descending the arrette in big boots and crampons was the most difficult part, but our guide was very helpful. Sean explained everything in detail and after a determined run, we ascended smoothly and began a detailed tour of the peaks nearby, the mer de glace and the bosson glacier. While in Grenoble we elected to do a climbing/canyoning adventure with Canyonin. We selected the Bastille site for the climb since it was walking distance from our hotel. Our guide Bertrand met us at the base and brought all the required gear with him. As soon as we were ready up we went! One person in our group did not feel comfortable once we started, and he worked to get her back to solid ground before we continued the climb. We enjoyed this activity very much. It is a bit harder than it looks, but worth it once complete. Unfortunately we couldn’t complete the canyoning portion due to the water levels being too high. The company refunded our payment for this without any issues. If you are coming to Grenoble I would definitely recommend doing an activity with this company. Well the 5/5 trip advisor reviews were enough to swing me into taking a chance and I wasn't disappointed. The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. I flew with Loic who was reassuring, professional and kept me entertained throughout the flight on the intercom. I was incredibly lucky that a bearded vulture flew alongside the airframe for a short period. Loic stated that this was very unusual ... you never know what to expect! Couple of bits you may wish to know; there is seating for partners/friends if they are not flying. Access is from the Tichot lift in Val Claret and a very easy and short blue down to the airfield. I'm not a competent skier but this was easy. Phone them if you are not a skier, I'm sure they can accommodate you. The activity was fairly priced and the family were incredibly friendly, everyone speaks fantastic English which was good as my French is as good as my skiing! Fantastic day out on snow shoes (raquettes) in the mountains near Bourg St Maurice. Our guide Antoine was superb. He picked us up from various locations (Arcs 1600, Arcs 1800 etc) in his minivan. We then drove up into the mountains on the other side of Bourg St Maurice and walked up a valley in the snow, over different terrain - woods, snow covered pasture. Great views! We then had lunch in a lovely rustic cottage in the mountains - Antoine prepared a great fondu, accompanied by other local foods and wine. My fellow walkers were a mix of British, French + Belgian. It was really friendly. We then walked back down to the minivan (about 45 mins walk). Antoine drove us back to our resorts. Great day out in the mountains - particularly for those who are non skiers and want to get out on the mountain, or skiers who fancy trying something a little different. Moderately strenuous (think going for a hill walk!) but you do not need to be 'superfit'. See more..

We are from the USA and have travelled extensively across the country, but there is nothing like this canyoning adventure anywhere that we have been. Numerous natural waterslides of various heights and pitch. Optional jumping from rocks. Rappelling. It was an experience that was genuine fun for the whole family. It was safe enough for my 6 year old, but thrilling enough to be my 13 year-olds favorite excursion during a week and a half in France. My wife and I (both in our 40s) found it thrilling as well, and a great way to experience a unique natural environment. Nico was an excellent guide. I would highly recommend Alpes Et Canyons! We are not French speakers and he did a great job engaging in English us and making the experience fun. All three of our children loved him.
