We only did one trip away from the island and that was a Half Day Sigatoka River Jetboat & Village Tour this was booked with the beautiful Bella at the hut as you walk to your rooms from reception. It was pricey but once we found out that if you book with them, the villages get 30% so I encourage to book at the hut. And make sure to take lots of stuff to give away to the village on your river tour. We highly recommend Capitan Laps wow he defiantly has missed his calling as a V8 supercar driver lol. He was that good our son fell asleep on the way home and he didn’t wake the whole boat ride. See more..

Our cruise stopped at a sand bar by Mana Island, a cliff and Monuriki Island where the movie Castaway was filmed (not to be confused with the Castaway Resort on a different island). Snorkeling was good at the sand bar and Monuriki, and just so so at the cliff. The staff gave a tour of Monuriki and showed different spots where the movie was made, and even Mr. Wilson was there! What an awesome day! Skilled guides, safety paramount, so much fun travelling up the river in the long boats, the visit to the village was so interesting, the swim at the waterfall so refreshing, and the tubing down the river was breathtaking. The guides made the day with their beautiful singing as we gently floated in the current between the rapids. What an awesome company. From the moment we stepped on the boat, we were made to feel comfortable and safe. The staff are amazing. So friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The dive crew were incredible. My wife is very nervous in the water but she felt so safe she went snorkeling, and was rewarded with seeing a family of stingrays. This wouldn’t of happened if not for the crew making her feel so safe and relaxed. Thank you to all the amazing staff, we will be back for some more diving and snorkeling adventures. This was our 4th diving holiday, and our teenage kids' 2nd time diving. We found the dive centre to be well run, the staff were amazing and the equipment in excellent condition. My daughter was a bit nervous as she'd only qualified on a previous holiday a year ago, but our dive guide Anna was brilliant with her. We knew the visibility wouldn't be great due to the time of year and recent cyclones etc but it was still amazing. We ended up doing 12 dives, and the 2 highlights were finally seeing sharks, on multiple dives, and being lucky enough to come across a manta ray! The one thing I'd recommend is letting them know you plan to dive before you get there, and contact them direct, not through the hotel. They were expecting us and we were able to dive every day we wanted to. However only 1 boat was going out each day and we would have been devastated if they were full! Husband and myself did the cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary . It wasn’t a full cruise which made interacting with other passengers a lot easier. The staff were so friendly and funny. I don’t know where to start about the food. There was plenty and cooked to perfection. You will never starve on a Captain Cook Cruise. Our cabins were cleaned every morning. A special shout out to Amos, Thank you for your knowledge and a big thank you for finding my mask on the ocean floor that I dropped over the side of the boat when snorkeling. Sali… your singing every day was beautiful I could sit there all day long listening to you. Raibe. I loved being greated every morning by you. All staff were incredible and multi tasking. We had so much fun with the mud pool followed by the hot springs. We didn’t go with a tour group, we were able to drive up there. Parking is included with the entrance free, i can’t recall the exact amount but it was less than $60 Fijian dollars for 2 adults and a child. They have someone who works there and walk you from pool to pool, also takes pictures/videos for you! We stayed at a resort in Denarau and wanted to do a day excursion. We decided to book this tour through the internet after looking at the tours offered through the hotel. We are so happy we did since this tour was much less crowded. The boat crew were fun and friendly. They served beer and wine on the boat and at the island. The crew even sang songs and played instruments for us on the way home! We had plenty of time at the island to snorkel and relax. We saw a lot of fish snorkeling around the coral reefs and saw baby reef sharks (don’t let the word shark scare you, they aren’t dangerous). The trip out was so much fun, the crew made my husband the chief for the day, gave him the honor of carva, and made him and others born in the month a birthday cake singing them all Happy Birthday. We gently sailed out to a secluded island not too far out for a fantastic day of baby shark feeding, guided snorkeling and glass bottom boat for those not so adventurous.
