   The tour and the team (Miki and Andy) are absolutely fantastic! We went for the tour in September, so the weather got bad (high waves) when we reached the caves. M&A still showed us the approachable/safe cave under these circumstances and waited for the waves to get calmer. As if it didn`t, they ensured everyone got on the coast safely. In the end, they wanted to give us all the money back, but we insisted on getting only a partial reimbursement since they were so friendly and still gave us half of the tour. We would gladly come back and join the tour again. P. S. Bring proper water shoes and not flip-flops - the cave is dangerously sharp. The rest of the safety equipment (waterproof phone case and bag, diving mask and protective helmet) is included. P. P. S. You`ll also get awesome photos made by Miki! Overall - GO FOR IT.    Wir haben das Küstenpatent mit AC Nautik gemacht - den Kurs am Samstag in Opatja und die Prüfung am Sonntag in Rijeka. Die Kursunterlagen waren sehr gut aufbereitet und der Kurs selbst war sehr gut. Leila alles in bestem Deutsch und für alle verständlich erklärt und Tipps für den Prüfungstag gegeben! Die Betreuung bei der Prüfung selbst war sehr gut und alles war gut organisiert. Jede Dame bekam nach bestandener Prüfung eine Rose geschenkt.

   Came upon this little museum whilst strolling in the park. It had a small admission fee and I was made to feel welcome and allowed to take photos. When I visited it had a wonderful exhibition of reproductions of Empress Sisi of Austria's dresses next to photos and paintings of her wearing them. Really good value. See more..

   We loved the delightful town of Opatija which is situated on the coast of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. In the 19th century it was a fashionable resort town, and is dotted with Habsburg-era villas. The very attractive Lungomare promenade runs along the coastline, and gives lovely views of the town and neighbouring islands. Small stalls were lined up along the promenade selling souvenirs, ice creams, tours and the like. We saw the beautiful 1800s Villa Angiolina, which is set in a garden of exotic plants, and today houses the Croatian Museum of Tourism. And we made a short stop at the 14th century St. Jacob’s Church which is located near Villa Angiolina. There’s lots to see in this pretty town so if you’re on the Istrian Peninsula, make sure you visit Opatija.    Volosko is a pleasant small fishing town close to Opatija. We ate a two different restaurants in the harbor which has also cocktail bars as well as other traditional restaurants. From the port towards Opatija it’s possible to walk along a pathway where you’ll find several diving spots and areas for sunbathing. Parking is easier early in the morning and late at night. There is a dedicated app for paying for your parking spot - way better than paying with change. Volosko has also a considerable amount of stray cats that are very friendly and sweet so make sure to carry some cat food with you. See more..

During winter and spring is perfect for a walk but during tourism is impossible to access cause is really full and you got no parking. Bar, market, restaurant, boats, playground.     I love visiting churches in my travels around the world, not from a religious aspect but because the churches generally, are so beautiful inside. This quaint little church is located in the centre of Opatija, Croatia, near the Villa Angiolina (today the Croatian Museum of Tourism) and next to the Hotel Kvarner. Originally built in the 14th century, the church is said to be an architectural masterpiece. It is also how the town of Opatija got its name as it was originally called St. Jacob’s Abbey and abbey in Croatian is opatija. The church and its surroundings are well worth a visit. There are lovely trees and seats and paths to walk around. Don't forget to leave a donation towards its upkeep and benefit of future generations. Elegantly standing on the reef beside Lungomare promenade in a prominent position, overlooking the splendid bay. Unmissable, it tells an interesting story that is worth reviewing and the identity of the girl was was actually unknown for decades.     Slatina beach is old and it should be modernized. It is ok if you don't care...but there are so many other beaches which you should explore. For example the beach Lido is now part of the beach resort Bevanda and it looks great, than amazing Kantrida in Rijeka with modern pools complex, Medveja, Moscenicka Draga, Icici,...if you walk "lungo mare" you can find a small beach just for yourself.     We visited Lounge Bar Tantra every day during our week long trip to Opatija and once at night. It has sand which is a plus in Opatija(no concrete!) and you access the beautiful sea from a ladder or the high dive board. We hired sun loungers and you can get lounger-service from the waiting staff- coffee, sandwiches and beers are all very reasonably priced. The staff are a bit grumpy but never overly unpleasant. Some of them smiled occasionally! I guess they would rather be lounging by the sea instead of serving drinks so I'll let them off. See more..

    We'd passed the place walking the Lungomare, noticed it looked fairly chilled with a beach bar vibe, so came back a following day after a long walk along the Carmen Sylva and up to Veprinac. The staff were great, drinks came swiftly and they didn't pressure us to order food quickly.     Thalasso Wellness Centar Opatija - Review I would not visit this location - called a "spa." The person at the reception desk - named Tina was extremely rude. The men in the spa, mostly locals, had smart phones in the sauna area; it was very unsettling. The staff said that they could do nothing and laughed. The staff was also rude to other foreign guests and one them asked for refund and left the place. If this is what coming to "Opatija's top spa" is all about - and to experience the worst service in all of the Balkans and SE Europe, then guests are going to have a rude awakening including a stressful experience. Thalasso Wellness Centar Opatija is apparently is a (Croatian) state-run entity, and the terrible customer service and the environment should be listed as the worst place in all of Croatia. See more..
