Today we will all be son's of Lieutenant Schmidt . The statue is a great likeness of Leonid Kuravlyov' character from the book and film Shura Balaganov. To help the famous sons divide up the cash of the gullible party members , there is a finger post at the round junction that points to many major cities in the world. On the wall near to the life size statue of the lovable rogue Shura Balaganov there is a plaque on the wall. that is a quote from the book ( not the film) translated into English this reads "You think I'm stupid!" shrieked Panikovsky. "Give me Central Russia, then I'll sign the pact." "What? The entire Center?" mocked Balaganov. "Would you also like Melitopol on top of that? Or Bobruisk?" We found this museum by accident - we were walking around Mogilev and saw this big sign saying 'Museum'. We went in and found out the museum showed the ethnographical history of Mogilev and its region. The staff consisted of around eight ladies who did not speak a word of English - yet some words in German helped us as well. We walked around the museum and soon noticed the ladies were very eager to tell us about the museum and its objects. With our basic-Russian we probably understood 20 % of what they told us, but they told it with lots of pleasure and encouraged us to touch some items and take photos. I would recommend this museum if you are interested in a bit of culture from the region, authentic Belarussian clothing and rituals and old photographs. I must say the exhibition looked quite modern to me. I had a pleasant visit! See more..

Костел построен в 1901-1903 годах, в середине 50-х 20-го века его фасадная часть рухнула и к старому зданию пристроили новое административное, где до сих пор заседает администрация ДСК. Памятник Шкловскому установлен возле Дома Культуры напротив городского рынка. Автор этого необычного произведения – Андрей Воробьев из Могилева. Памятник изображен как улыбчивый огурец в галстуке-бабочке, в одной руке он держит корзинку с огурцами, а в другой огуречный цветок, голову персонажа вместо шапки покрывает большой лист, защищающий от солнца. Вся скульптура в целом, по словам А. Воробьева, является отражением образа местных жителей, большая часть которых выращивает и продает огурцы на рынке. Small cosy museum with a very interesting collection. They have: -local fauna room with examples of local birds and animals, -War II room represented dramatic events, -Orthodox icon room with absolotely unique items, - the room where ancients tool and art items found during exavations are presented, - national costumes and house items room, and many other interesting things. Also I was impress by a charming open air garden with medical plants. Klichaw itself is a very small town but with beautiful nature. Also you can try local bread baked without artificial addings. Ithe the middle of it there is the sculpture to an Astrologer. There is also one of the biggest and the most original sundial. The Astrologer, pointing to the sky, is sitting in a high chair, ready to observe the sky through a telescope. Around Astrologer there are 12 seats by the number of signs of the zodiac. This memorial is just outside Mogilev, easily reached by taxi. We were fortunate enough to be taken by a friend; parking was easy and it was very quiet. It is a memorial to the three week stand that the resistance of Mogilev made against the Nazis as they marched towards Russia. It has a number of tanks situated in the grounds and a small church (which is nit usually open to the public). It is well worth the visit. See more..

Огромная территория!!! На улице было достаточно прохладно, но при этом видели много зверей, нам повезло, никто не прятался по вальерам. Очень большая территория, гуляли больше 2-х часов и обошли не все. Даже удалось увидеть зубров, достаточно близко. Примерно в 13.30 их кормят и они все организованно направляются к месту кормления. К сожалению не удалось прокатиться по железной дороге, хоть она и работала (январь), нужно было ждать пока наберется группа примерно из 25 человек, но уже замерзли, поэтому не стали ждать((( В целом прогулка понравилась, осталось очень приятное впечатление. Кто пишет про тесные клетки, видимо, не были в зоопарках мегаполисов, которые по территории раз в 5 меньше данного зоосада, а животных пытаются вместить столькоже. Конечно, для тигра и волка обитание в клетке это в принципе противоестественно, но мы все прекрасно понимаем, что мы увидим в зоопарке. See more..

It is a tranquil and well maintained square and has an eternal flame in from of the main statue: a poignant reminder of past atrocities.
