A much larger site than Butrint, it has not been excavated very much so far [7-8%]. You can readily spend the better part of a day if so inclined. Our group had a guided tour of the site’s highlights with Adi. He gave a good overview. The feature attraction is the Bouleuterion, the legislative-making body. Nearby was the odeon and the stoa. Many good artefacts are housed in the museum, in part of the old Monastery of St Mary. The site is known for its connection to Julius Caesa rand his battles with Pompey the Great. Octavian, the future Augustus, studied philosophy here from 45 to 44 BC. See more..

The boat ride tt's a spectacular experience. Get to see a lot of birds, curly pelicans, flamingos, and many more "long legged" birds that I can't remember their names. The scenery it's fantastic, full of pine trees and brush. Also a visit at the 360° tower was very beautiful, the 360° view of the forest from above was amazing, especially close to sunset, makes a fantastic place for perfect fotos. Close to the beach there are a lot of sea food restaurants that cook fresh fish and traditional meals. Overall, Karavasta lagoon makes for a good day outdoors, with many interesting things to see. The tower was really nice, maby outside by wood. You can pay 100 leke per person and you can go on the top floor where you can see the point wherw the lagoon meets the see. The view is amazing. There are 2 pelicans for the people to watch and you can camp there ore picnic. You can make a boat tour to the lagoon for 1000 leke. See more..

At the centre of Lushnje at Sheshi i Komitetit (Committee Plaza) is a large public plaza near the city hall,and in one corner is the large and striking Toha Jone or "Our Land" monument. It is an impressive example of Albanian Socialist Realist art and commands a strong presence in the attractive setting in the plaza with the surrounding buildings as a backdrop. It seems to be here because of the importance Lushnje played in the formation of the early government of the new state of Albania since in 1920 a major a congress convened here to determine the future and character of the new government. It is certainly worth at least a quick look on a drive through town, which is right on the road between Berat and Tirana or Durres. It is easy to reach and those who are interested in such thigns will certainly find it rewarding. It seems to be one of the largest and most significant Socialist Realist monuments in the country outside of Tirana. See more..
