Touristic area

Historically a thriving fishing community, Fisherman’s Village in Bophut is now a popular walking street, with rustic shophouses converted into eateries, shops, beach bars, and hotels. Restaurants here specialize in seafood, with both local and international offerings on the menu. Things kick up a notch during the weekly night market which features stalls serving cocktails, sweets, and street food from around the world. Get yourself a classic Thai stirfry and homemade coconut ice cream for dessert. Be sure to browse the handicrafts and trinkets—soft beach kaftans and bowls carved from coconuts make great souvenirs. – Tripadvisor

    Bit of a tourist trap
Did not quite meet expectations. There is a LOT of international food on the menus. Beachside restaurants are expensive in comparison to most other restaurants, mainly due to the location. I can’t comment on the beachside dining and beach entertainment as it was ruined by the incessant rain that greeted us virtually every day of our holiday. We went to 5 restaurants in the village, the best by far was The Hut , which is a bit isolated right down the barren eastern side. The better restaurants are not in the village, but obviously less aesthetic. We went to 5 bars in the village, the best by far was the Karma Sutra. Although there is a lot of foot traffic and it has a lot of bars/restaurants, don’t be expecting a big party scene. At 10 o’clock the village is virtually empty, even though the bars are well populated. The Night Market is on the western edge of the village and occurs three times a week. Although, on one particular deluge, we went to Kawin’s Kitchen on the main road and noticed that the market wasn’t on, even though it should’ve been. We only went the once and I hated it. It was very much for the tourists. Thai food was a scarcity. We saw corn on the cob, sausages (not Chiangmai sausages), Gyros from a Greece, Enshelladas from Mexico, Doner Kebabs from Turkey, Satay from Malaysia and half a dozen pop up cocktail bars.

    Touristic area
If you like this place, it depend what you are looking for. If you looking for some nice cafes, good fish restaurants in a more or less western style you will love this place. The nightmarket in this area is a "circus" for western tourists and has nothing to do with the atmosphere on a Thai nightmarket in the rest of the country.
