Trains from Thai border in the North and Kuala Lumpur in the South arrive at this modern station on mainland Penang. During festivities like Chinese New Year and Thaipusam it is best to buy your ETS ticket in advance, the Northern Komuter ones are sold only at the station. A long steep corridor is now opened connecting directly to the new/old fast ferry crossing over to Georgetown.See more..
4.0Penang Sentral(8 reviews) - Penang Transportation Hub, somehow like KL Sentral Public Transportation Systems
Modern / New Transportation Hub in Butterworth, Penang. The entrance to parking areas is quite tricky, but they have plenty of parking lots. Many restaurants, mini markets and modern facilities provided. Has direct connection to Ferry. Hub for Buses and linked to rains. See more..
3.5KTM Berhad(6 reviews) - Straight to Kuala Lumpur Public Transportation Systems
Since the new ETS trains started to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Penang in 4,5 hours some five years ago I have been using them instead of flying, also for Langkawi, equipped with warm clothing as they are freezing cold. By creating a profile on the KTM website I have managed to buy the tickets already in Finland. The train station is just next to the ferry terminal, but poorly connected for customers with heavy luggage. Taxis can take you to the island quicker by the bridge, though Georgetown is visible from the station.See more..
