Poda Island, Krabi Province, Thailand

Nice small island easily reachable by boat

You can reach easily Poda island from Aonang beach by boat, return ticket is 300 bhat and national park fee is additional 200. You will just have to wait while at least 6 people come for the same ride bit in a season it is very quick, it is 15 minutes ride from Aonang. Better go there earlier in the morning beacause the last return is at 4pm. The same boat will wait for you for the way back. You will be taken at the front beach just for individual trips and probbably won't be busy. The beach at the other side is for islands excursions and is crowded with tours if you come after 12 pm. But you can walk there to buy drinks or ice cream, there is a park as well. You can ask your boat driver to take you at the secret beach for some fee you give him extra. It is beautiful little spot at the edge of Poda island good for snorkling, you will see a lot of fish there.

    Most beautiful beach in Krabi
Would highly recommend a long boat trip to Poda. We visited them all and loved Poda the best - water is clear and the beach is relatively free from rocks. They even have a small snack stand. You can book a private long boat for 2,200 BHT from the AO Nang tour boat area (across from krua Thera) restaurant. Ask for boat A98, whose captain is named Sari. He’s the most gracious and skilled. A very nice man who has been on a long boat for 30 years.

    Beautiful at sunrise
In my recent visit to Krabi, I've visited Poda Island twice - once for the 4 Island Sunset Cruise and once for the Phi Phi Island Tour. The island is surrounded by crystal clear turquoise sea, has toilet facilities and things you can buy there such as fresh coconuts and juices. You can go inside the small island with tall palm trees and a huge rock behind it that makes it look nice. When we did the 4 island sunset cruise, the island was busy in the afternoon but when we did the Phi Phi Island Tour we had breakfast on the island as the first stop with no one else and the sunrise before 7.00am on the island was amazing. You can obviously swim or relax on the beach - the choice is yours. The main feature is the rock opposite the island that comes on many postcards for Poda Island.
