Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint, Krabi Province, Thailand

4.5 (5.084 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #1 in Krabi Province Points of Interest & Landmarks

Worth the hike up the stairs.

We did this in the morning as it gets hot during the day and its more challenging to do it during the day. After getting to the top view point one you can keep on going up to view point 2 where there is nice places to take photos and enjoy a cold drink or beer at the bar up there. I recommend going in the morning or even for sunrise on sunset and try to avoid going during the day. There is stores to buy water before the stairs begin not much while on the stairs. Enjoy !

    A long way up !!!!
Went up with hubby, as two middle-aged travellers!!! The walk up was hard, but the View you are greeted with was amazing, there are 2 view points, within 5 minutes walk from each other, its laid out as a park area, on view point 2 there is a cafe where you can sit on the balcony with a cocktail or beer and take in the amazing view. Also a quiet reflection area depicting pictures of the tsunami, and how the island has regenerated itself after the disaster, along with the home flags of the nations that perished that fateful day. Please if you are dubious about the walk do it, take your time, it was beautiful once we got to the top.

Great place to see the whole island
The viewpoint is great if you want to have an elevated view of the island. I recommend going in the morning because then the sun is behind you and you can get better pictures. It did get quite crowded with everyone taking pictures, but everyone was respectful and let each person have their chance. Note! There are two ways to get to the viewpoints. The recommended route is via the stairs in the town area. It is steep, but way more direct and quicker than the other way around. The other way around is a road that cars/bikes use to get over the mountain. It is much further (3km vs 800m) and doesn't offer any views until you're at the top.
