Fantastic private tour at a bargain price.
The four of us, two couples, took the private 2-hour tour with Kawena on Feb. 17, 2022. This was one of the most informative, pleasant tours we’ve ever taken. And, at a total cost of $75 (not per person), it was quite a bargain for what you experience. We got to see the coffee process from growing to bagging, and every step in between. The tour ends with a “cupping” — coffee-speak for tasting — of four different coffees. Kawena was highly personable and gracious, taking time to learn (and remember our names). The farm itself is picturesque and filled with many different fruit trees and exotic plants, plus black pepper and vanilla beans. Amazingly, Greenwell Farms — now run by the sixth generation — also offers a free, 1-hour public tour; but do yourself a favor and book the private tour. You won’t be disappointed. (Be sure to book a morning tour as it gets toasty on the farm.) Thank you, Kawena, for a highly informative and enjoyable morning. Dennis, Debbie, Jeff & Virginia

Interesting and informative! Exactly what I was looking for
This was exactly what I was looking for - history, interesting stories, learning about coffee and how it is grown and processed and the added bonus was the other plants that are also grown here. I would allow at least 2 hours here to be safe - wait a bit on the front end for the next tour, a bit over an hour for the tour, then some time to shop afterwards. WELL worth my time! Note: The tour is all walking/standing and on dirt/gravel paths. OK for someone with minor mobility issues (i.e. uses a cane) but I wouldn't recommend for anyone who can't stand for an hour. You don't walk FAR, the time is mostly spent listening to the stories and information.

Be sure and go!
This was an incredibly interesting tour, absolutely free too. I learned things about coffee I've never know and I've been a coffee connoisseur for most of my life. We walked around the grounds, saw the other things they grow including peppercorns and pineapple. Their coffee is expensive, but if you get some, make sure you buy beans and not ground. I bought a sampler that was ground and I'm sure it would have been fresher if I'd bought whole bean.
