Huangguoshu Water Falls, Guizhou, China

A Day at Huangguoshu National Park (黄果树瀑布)
We took a bus from Anshun East Bus Terminal to 黄果树瀑布. After we purchased our ticket, we were swarmed by taxi drivers. Apparently, 黄果树瀑布 National Park is very big and required transport to drop us to different waterfalls. Together with a Chinese couple, we hired a taxi for RMB400 for a day. 黄果树瀑布 is one of the largest waterfalls in China and East Asia located on Baishui River (白水河) in Anshun. The first scenic spot was Doupotang Waterfall (陡坡塘瀑布). This waterfall is 1 kilometre upriver from Huangguoshu Waterfall and is the widest waterfall in the area, measuring 105m in width and 21m in height. We completed this spot pretty fast (around 30 minutes). After meeting the driver, he drove us to the second scenic spot, Tianxingqiao (天星桥景区). It took us about 2hrs to walk in this area. I love the 365 stone pavements with famous people and dates engraved on it. Finally, we were at 天星桥. She is a slab of stone spanning and forming a bridge across a gorge. It was totally mysterious and spectacular. Infact, I love this waterfall more than Huangguoshu Waterfall. Hahaha Lastly, our driver dropped us to our final scenic spot, Huangguoshu Waterfall. An enormous waterfall group comprised of 18 waterfalls. Water-curtain caves run through the waterfall beginning at a height of 40 meters and reaching a height of 47 meters. It took us another 3hrs, to reach 黄果树瀑布. Phew! I was all wet walking around the waterfall as she poured down thunderously. We also walked beneath the waterfall through a cave. After 5hrs of walk, we were too tired and paid extra RMB200 for the driver to send us back to Anshun. We left Anshun the next day and headed back to Kunming (another 6 hours train ride).

An Exciting Trip
I have been to Guizhou in the last summer vacation and enjoyed the beautiful scenery there. I went there with my family and my friends. It is located in the southwest of China and the capital city is Guiyang. We stayed there for a month. Guizhou is a city of profound history. We visited many historic places which could show me the different ethnic groups’ culture change. After I visited Guizhou several months. I still remembered Huangguoshu waterfall clearly. Because it really amazed me. When I arrived there, we couldn’t see the waterfall at first, before that we should walk a long distance. It took me two hours to go to the top. I think it because I always got tired during walking. In the end, I went to the top and saw the waterfall. Before I went there, I have searched this waterfall which were taken by others. I have thought it’s beautiful, but when I saw it myself, it was really amazing and wonderful than the pictures showed. I stood further with my raincoat, but I still got all wet. You could imagine now. It’s really unbelievable.
