Impressive Architecture with Great History

We took the guided English tour and learned a lot about the building, the city, and the country. The tour guide was the best. He basically told a story with lots of humor and important tidbits to make the tour most enjoyable. The rooms are impressive and one can see the evolution of the building throughout the different centuries. The tour staff is lovely. Very friendly and kind people. The tour lasts about 50 min and well worth the price of admission.

Impressive building but limited interior guided tour
Most visitors like me would probably only have the opportunity to admire the impressive Gothic facade of the Brussels Town Hall, an unmissable landmark building on Grand Place. Entrance to the town hall must be accompanied by the guided tour, but good luck in getting the tickets! The English-speaking tours are only available on Wednesday (1 session) and Sunday (3 sessions), up to a certain maximum number of visitors, and therefore is not surprising that tickets sold out fairly quickly. Makes one wonder why isn’t this tour made available on more days…

    Fascinating tour!
We read that tours of City Hall are offered several days a week so we decided to book. Best to do that online the day before, the group has a limit of 25. We booked the English afternoon tour. Interestingly we were the only native English speakers there. The guide was wonderful with a great sense of humor. He explained the history of the building as well as the history of Brussels.
