Mont des Arts, Brussels, Belgium

Wonderful park near city center

A beautiful park with good views. It’s a mixture of very well kept and in need of some work. It can be very quiet depending on the day but tends to be very busy on sunny weekend days. Also there were several events in the park the month we were here so there could be a lot of activity on those days too. The view from the top of the steps is very nice. It’s close to the center so a good little walk to stop by and see.

Enjoyable park experience in the city!
We walked through the Mont des Arts several times during our stay in Brussels. The gardens were well manicured. The statue of King Albert I stands proudly on one side of the road; the statue of Elizabeth across the street. Lots of people walking through, relaxing on park benches, listening to music by buskers, checking out the graffiti art. Nearby bars and cafes were often filled.

Possible Construction Work Ongoing—But Still Delightful
Be aware that as of the summer of 2022, and like a surprising number of popular attractions in European cities, crews are performing construction work in the Mont des Arts gardens. They only close off a small section, but there’s the potential for views to be impeded and/or noise to be heard. Despite this, I highly recommend a leisurely walk or a picnic here, as the impact isn’t too major. It’s clean, safe, and affords amazing views of central Brussels at the elevated part of the gardens. Just finish that construction ASAP!
