The Åland Islands Art Museum is open daily and visitors are welcome to renovated facilities and a new exhibit of the museum’s collections. Should be visited
A small but very nicely presented museum. In combination with the history museum, it is a very valuable introduction to Aaland. The cultural museum presents the whole of the region's history in an effective manner.

A mixed bag
The most interesting section in this museum—in my view—is the one covering cultural history. Unfortunately, the texts are only in Swedish, as Aland is Swedish-speaking in general. But if you read Swedish, you get a time-capsule for each decade going back to the 1920s and up to and including the 2010s. Another section features several artists who with paintings, videos and artifact displays try to improve the world. But the messages seem more like personal outbursts of diffuse anger than informative or constructive suggestions. There are also more traditional displays focusing on the natural history of Aland. Even at the height of tourist season, it offered a quiet visit.
