Superb Church

From the moment you walk into this painted beauty you will be amazed. The walls, ceiling and support are all hand painted and includes the ship hanging from the overhead as a prayer memorial to sailors at sea. One of the nicest small-town churches we have visited

    Red brick 20th century church
Situated half way along the esplanade that runs across Maiehamn on the peninsula, it's only a short walk from the centre. It is a neat building and although it was locked we were able to walk around the outside and look through some of the windows.

    Interesting looking church
The S:t Gorans Kyrka is an interesting looking church outside and the inside don't disappoint either. The ceiling has nice decoration and the altar piece is wonderful; it glistens lovely when light hits to it. I froze at the door because when I stepped in the Mendelssohn wedding march started to play; my first tough was I've crashed a wedding but apparently the cantor was practicing playing the organ. It gave a little bit extra to the visit.
