The place to go in the archipelago of Aland

Kökar is the place to go if you wish to leave "central Åland" and visit a more remote island. Kökar has 300 inhabitants or so, but never the less offers a hotel, Budhäll, with a good restaurant placed at the guest harbour. The village of Kökar is quite cute and there are views of the archipelago all over the place. Do not miss the church, St Anna, placed beautifully overlooking the sea. To get here you need to take the ferry run by "Ålandstrafiiken" from Långnäs/Åland. And when you leave you might as well take the ferry to Finland and continue to Turku/Åbo.

not the best island of the archipelo
After spending one week in the main island of Aland, we spent one night in Kokar to go back to the mainland in Finland. If the trip by boat is very nice with beautiful scenaries, Kokar is an island like any others of the Aland archipelago. I will rather recommend to spend some time in Geta instead of Kokar.
