We are just getting back from Canaima. The National park is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It's so untouched and its views are so breathtaking that if you ever doubted there's a god you will be convinced there's a major power somewhere by the time you leave Canaima. Kavak is the best example of it. Just breath taking and unbelievable. As beautiful as it get. Totally worth doing at least once in your life. We did the 3 day Angel Falls adventure tour. We arrived to the village of Canaima from Puerto Ordaz and were greeted by our guide William. He was great and suggested that we go down to the lagoon for a nice view of the falls while we were waiting for the other plane to arrive. He assured us our bags would be safe and secure. Upon arrival at the camp William explained how our first day of visiting Salto Sapo would be. He was very informative and complete in the description. On the tour he was also very informative about the area. In Salto Sapo we were offered to walk under the first minor part of the falls and then a bit down the river to almost the edge of much of it. It was very adventurous and interesting. The next day we headed to the Angel Falls, the boat ride was long, but the scenery was all beautiful. The walk to the Angel Falls was great and worth it once you get to the lookout point. All meals were also very good, except lunch on the boat, which was fine. I would definitely recommend Canaima Tours. See more..

I Visited this park during spring break of 2012 and i loved it! The park was about 15-20 mins by taxi from the Puerto Ordaz/Ciudad Guayana-General Manuel Carlos Piar Airport. We payed 20 bucks for the ride because we asked the driver to stop a few times before making it to the Point of Interest. The is no entry fee to the park! Its is very clean and well maintained. You must walk about a mile to the waterfalls, but in the process there are beautiful things to see: such as a small lake, monkeys on trees, you may also take a small "train" ride, play sports, exercise (with outdoors machines) etc... things to bring!! camera: sun block! and water! Restrooms were not easily found. They do have a small open to the air restaurant with refreshments, and sandwiches etc... Make SURE that you ALWAYS use Bolivares (national currency) since dollars are not accepted by any establishments. Credicards are accepted, but the park did not have any business that would take credit cards. See more..

There's definitely a really nice view of the Orinoco River, the largest river in Venezuela, but not much else. There was a restaurant near the police checkpoint, but it is now closed, shame. It's dangerous and prohibited to stop the car to take pictures in the bridge, so it's recommended to take them while driving or to take pictures before crossing it. If you go to Ciudad Guayana when the Orinoco river has grown, the view is much different and sometimes scary, it's an awesome spectacle of nature. See more..
