4 Star Places To Visit in Westford, Massachusetts, United States (9)

  1. 4.0 The Butterfly Place (211 reviews)
    - Spendy for such a small place.
    Nature & Wildlife Areas

This place is good for a 30 minute visit, not much more. It was fun to see all the beautiful butterflies, and if you sit down they often will light on you. Wear bright colors they say. They have zebra finches here too, that are delightful. A fun visit for young children, especially girls. It's a relatively small place however, and much more than 30 minutes, one can get bored. They have a smallish pond with goldfish in it, and the butterflies seem to congregate around this portion. Wish it was much, much bigger. Not really worth the price...as it was spendy for such a short amount of time there. The butterflies are exquisite though. See more..

We wanted some ice cream after dinner, before heading back to the hotel and found this online. We were all surprised to see such a place, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Very nice area, walked around, then had our ice cream which was very very good! Glad we went! See more..
  3. 4.5 Bobby's Ranch (30 reviews)
    - Wonderful way to spend a beautiful day!
    Tuesday: Ranches

Fun time yesterday! Went on a trail ride. They found the perfect horse for me. Even took a picture of me that I requested. Big, open space with cats, dogs, goats! Serene area. Restrooms. Leave personal items in your car or wear a flat, small pouch or bag. Trail is a good hour. Get there 20 min early for sign in, etc. The trail is varied - some puddles, small hills, lots of greenery. They had two staff members riding both in front of and behind us. Wonderful to be out in such beautiful weather. Staff knows all horses well. Fun to hear the history of horse you are riding. Would definitely go again! See more..

We stumbled on this place by accident - we had a coupon and saw there was a pool so opted for the 40 minute drive to check it out. Wow - what a great place! Our son suffers from Sensory Processing Disorder, so we've visited every indoor and outdoor playspace in a 100 mile radius of our home. One Stop Fun is right up there with some of the best - and despite the other reviews, I did not feel it was dirty at all. We've been to at least 30-40 other play spaces across 4 states and this was up there in the top 5. We also enjoyed the swimming pool - and it wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be on a steaming hot Sunday in August. Our son loved the water slide (it's hard to find local pools with toddler slides) and we made a day of it at One Stop Fun both indoors and out. Definitely check it out! See more..

  6. 4.0 Butter Brook Golf Club (6 reviews)
    - Another Perfect Day @ Butter Brook GC!
Spent More than 3 hours Golf Courses
    Butter Brook Golf Club image
Returned to Butter Brook on 8/21/18 for our third round there this season. No better place to golf on those sweltering hot days where ample shade provides a bit of relief between shots. Nearly aced #3 (see photo) but did knock in the club-length birdie. The course couldn’t be in much better condition absent the usual ball marks left by those who don’t care to fix them. Overly, though, there aren’t too many on the greens. I find the course to be challenging and requiring all kinds shot shapes and club choices to get from tee to green. They have two putting greens with the one off #10 allowing chipping. Driving range is $5.00 for a small warm-up bucket. Tasty food at their snack bar/restaurant with a couch to kick back on while re-playing the good and bad shots of the day while downing a microbrew. Staff is always attentive and friendly. Can’t ask for much more than those things, except maybe for a long putt or two to drop, amirite? See more..
  7. 4.5 Nashoba Brook Wildlife Sanctuary (4 reviews)
    - Hidden gem for hiking and connecting with nature
Spent 1-2 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
This is a wonderful place to hike through the woods and beside a lake. I spent less than an hour there due to time constraints but I could have spent a lot more time. It's clean and peaceful, with the entrance located at the end of a cul de sac in what appears to be a relatively new development. It's great for solitude or the entire family. Although I didn't see any mammals, I could hear many birds singing. I was touched by a memorial built beside the pond by some children for a relative who had died in a war. They planted a bush in the sun and left a watering can so those who visit could help with the watering. I highly recommend a visit here! See more..
  8. 4.5 J. V. Fletcher Library (2 reviews)
    - Cozy + community events
Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Libraries
This library has no overdue fines!!! It's collection size is a liitle small, though. They have free books, plus book sales. They have ukelele strum-alongs, plus summer reading activities for all ages. The building is small, so the books crowd around you making it cozy. There is a cool Hogwarts photo setting thing downstairs and a seed library. The seed library lets you borrow seeds for a garden, then return them next year once you grow them. See more..
  9. 4.0 Westford Knight (1 review)
    - Thought Provoking
    Spent < 1 hour Monuments & Statues
I have always been interested in historical monuments. I really enjoyed this attraction. Having read about the Sinclairs (of Knights Templar fame) and the Rosslyn Chapel, home of the Sinclairs in Scotland, I read that there is a window whose sculptured surround includes Indian Corn. Sinclair is said to have led a group of eight knights across the Atlantic in 1398. Indian corn was not known in Europe in the 14th century. The knight was sculpted by David Christiana, which is purported to represent the likeness portrayed on the stone adjacent to it. Very interesting thought provoking. See more..
