We have lived in Palm Beach County for many years but this is our first visit to the equestrian center. It was beautiful and fascinating. I never expected it to be so large with the competition areas, practice areas, shops, restaurants and barns. We visited during what they call Hunter Week. We were a group tour on a Thursday morning with our community. The horses are both beautiful and graceful as they jumped over their obstacles ridden by their costumed riders. We had a very good buffet lunch in a large tented area. The admission is free although certain preferred seating has a cost. On-site parking is free except for Saturday nights. We have already made plans to attend with another couple this coming Saturday evening. See more..

We discovered this park only recently, while looking for places to get some fresh air and exercise while being able to social distancing. It has 2 entrances (the main difference between the two is that the North one has restrooms) with small parking lots, and 3 miles of walking trails where you can walk, run or bike. There is also a separate dirt path for horseback riding! It is a very clean, tranquil, beautiful park; nature and birds help you relax, and get great pictures. We will visit it frequently during the winter time: as a lot of people already pointed out, the trails are completely under the sun… but there are a lot of young trees on the sides though: they will surely bring some shades to the trails in the future! We found this beautiful nature center by chance: we were looking for soccer fields open to the public and found them at the Village Park Athletics Complex in Wellington, where we then discovered this small hidden gem in it! You can walk on a boardwalk that goes through the middle of the park; or you can walk on the trail that surrounds the park: both ways are more or less 1 mile walk (no dogs or bikes are allowed). We visit it almost every weekend (when not too hot) to wind down after having played soccer or basketball: it’s so interesting to see how the landscape change during the year! Despite the signs of alligators, we haven’t encountered any so far, but we still don’t venture on the trails during mating season because they are very close to the water… better safe than sorry. But you can see many different birds, turtles and even river otters! A great place to relax and take pics. See more..
