4.5I-20 Wildlife Preserve(105 reviews) - Brand New--Trails and Wetland Nature & Wildlife Areas
Who knew there were wetlands in the Permian Basin? There are here. This place just opened, pursuant to a grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife. About 3 miles of trails, boardwalk, several bird-viewing blinds, and a hawk-observation tower. It's really pretty nice. Only two things mar. First, heavy traffic noise from the interstate, which rather spoils the peacefulness, at least on the southernmost portion of the trail. Second, another section of the trail abuts a really, ugly junkyard. But hey, nature situated it where it is, and somewhat was savvy enough to make an isolated spot into an unexpected, even unlikely community asset. NOTE--there are NO PETS, and no BIKES permitted. Walkers only. The trails appear handicap accessible.See more..

4.5Big Sky Drive-In Theatre(57 reviews) - Great for families Wednesday: 7:00 PM - 12:00 AM Spent More than 3 hours Movie Theaters
My fiancé and I choose to go here since we have a 4 year old that can’t sit still, and we have a good time every time. Food that is cooked could be cooked a little better, the staff doesn’t seem to care much about its customers but overall it’s great if you want to have a little quiet family time with your loved onesSee more..
4.0Summer Mummers(54 reviews) - Transport back in time to the good guys, the villains and the damsel in distress. Theatre & Performances
Summer Mummers must be experienced, it's hard to explain with mere words. Take a trip back in time to a salon in west Texas with dancing girls, villains, the good guys and of course a damsel in distress needing to be rescued. The slap-stick comedy is great. The first part is the play. The second part is the Oleo which is filled with jokes and dancing. When you arrive to the Yucca Theater, not only are you transported in time, but you become friends with everyone in the place. You'll understand why drinking beer out of a covered mug and straw is a necessity, when you find yourself in a popcorn war with everyone in the joint! I have been several years, and will continue to attend. I've brought a management team from work, friends and family. It's fun for all, but leave the kids at home!See more..

We were able to make it in our second attempt. Unfortunately, the first time we tried was when there was that mass shooting in Odessa/Midland and everything shut down. We were determined to give this place our business and we were not disappointed. Great selection of cigars and had some beer. The coffee was good as well. The outdoor patio was fantastic because I don't smoke but my husband does....so it was nice to have that fresh air for me. It was not super busy when we arrived but became busier as we stayed. The parking is tight, as there are other businesses nearby. The service inside for drinks is very slow, but if you sit outside the servers grab everything really fast. It was a lot of fun and we hope to return when we are back in the area!See more..

This is the 3rd or 4th Air Museum I have visited and I enjoyed chatting with the volunteers who told me the history of the planes. There is also a great exhibit about George Bush and his submarine rescue after being shot down in World War 2. Outside is also a great exhibit of aircraft used in the Vietnam war. The museum is free but a donation is appropriate.See more..
4.0Midland Downtown Farmer's Market(3 reviews) - Fun, local farmer's market Wednesday: Farmers Markets Farmer's markets are just getting started in the West Texas area and this is the best one I have visited. Has a good combination of fresh produce, meats, baked goods along with stands for fresh ground coffee, spices, goat cheese products, baked goods and craft items. There is a children's activity area, live music provided by local individuals and groups, along with different food trucks every week and information provided by the local Master Gardener. One of my new favorite booths is the micro-greens provided by a local producer. It is held on the grounds of the Museum of the Southwest and seems very well organized and runs smoothly each time I have visited. They also have special activities that include local authors, health services, etc.See more..
