The safari was a great experience thanks to Lahiru who is a really skilled and friendly guide. He took us all around the place and we got to see a herd of wild elephants close up. He was able to call the elephants closer to our jeep and even knew whether they were calm or not. It was really exciting and thrilling to see them. Lahiru took us around and always stopped to tell us more about the animals. We got to see several crocs, birds and many other animals. It takes years of experience to be able to read the behaviour of animals and we got to see that during our safari. I would definitely recommend you guys to contact Lahiru if you ever plan a trip to Udawalawe National Park. You're gonna have a great time for sure! See more..

We were planning on going to Yala from Mirissa to Arugam Bay, but saw Udawalawa and thought it would save us a days traveling as it is on the way through. We found a guide driver in town for 3000rp and he insisted we wouldn't need to hire a tracker also as they can get quite expensive. As soon as we go to the park we saw a giant bull elephant. We saw peacocks, jackals, crocodiles, about 50 elephants and some were really close to the car. Heaps of bird life, water buffalo and a wild cat. It was fantastic. Would highly recommend. See more..
