  2. 5.0 Magoebaskloof Canopy Tours (140 reviews)
    - Great excursion company
Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Magoebaskloof Canopy Tours image
While visiting the area with some friends, we did two trips arranged by Magoebaskloof Adventures. The first was the tubing, where we ended up in a large group due to bad weather in the period. Despite this, the tour was well organized and a lot of fun. The second was the zip lining, which was also exciting and well arrange. In general, I can comment that the area through which the tours go is beautiful and the guides very helpful and friendly. The sandwich and coffee at the end of the tour is also a welcome treat. - Great day in Kruger NP

    KPS Safaris & Tours image
Pick up at the Lodge and then a full day (means 11h) inside the park. We saw a lot of wildlife and the atmosphere was really great on that day. The guide knew everything about the animals we wanted to know and gave us lots of information. The car was comfortable, clean and perfect for a safari day. Communication before the tour via Whatsapp with Heine very good and he did everything to organize my days here in Hoedspruit. I can highly recommend this tour agency. See more..
  4. 5.0 Bushbaby Adventures (121 reviews)
    - 10 Star Rating
Safaris • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Bushbaby Adventures image
Elize was professional from the moment we started talking on Whatsapp in arranging a game drive. She was prompt and very easy-going. Her rates are very affordable, especially considering the service that she offers - at times even going out of her own to make sure we're having a good time. We stayed in Phalaborwa. She picked us up and arranged for a tasty breakfast break halfway into the drive. Then later arranged for gin and whisky tasting. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone wanting to do a drive into the Kruger - she knows the park and takes you to some lovely hidden gems. See more..

    - Great Driver
    Sunday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • Safaris • Taxis & Shuttles • Nature & Wildlife Tours
Buya Buya Travel & Tours image
We booked Buya Buya for our transportation, needs while on Safari in South Africa. Our driver Percy, was absolutely excellent. He was incredibly knowledgeable with the history of SA as well as making us feel comfortable and safe. He took us on a day trip and certainly showed us a good time. Percy was outstanding, professional, knowledgeable and an excellent driver. If you’re going on safari in the Hoedspruit area, I would recommend hiring Buya Buya and ask for Percy. See more..
  6. 5.0 Khalanga Safaris (87 reviews)
    - Kruger park and panorama route
    Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Safaris • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Khalanga Safaris image
We were a group of 7 people from Romania and have searched a lot for choosing a safari company and we made the right choice. Khalanga Safaris has done a great job, Shoes was a great guide and company, cooking and sharing with us all we needed to know about the safari. It was very important for us that Shoes was local and he knew all the insights, we wanted to experience the original safari, sleeping in the camp and Johanna and Shoes explained it all beforehand. We booked everything before flying to South Africa so we were a bit nervous as we did not know what to expect, but Johanna took great care of us and she was writing WhatsApp messages even at 22 at night to make sure everything is well planned. Great experience and value for money and we would certainly choose them again if we were to do it again. We did Panorama route in one day and the other 2 we spent in Kruger park. Thanks a lot Khalanga Safaris! We will not forget our first safari experience with you! See more..

    - What an experience!

    EverseenAfrica image
Incredible. Simply THE BEST trip I have ever been on. Much of that was down to all the special moments created by Charlie and Serena. Nothing was too much, everything was in place and having Charlie and Serena there made the trip a hundred times better. I felt like we were family being shown parts of South Africa that other people don't get to see! It is clear these guys work super hard for their guests and make sure they put the right people in the right places! The relationships they have built with the lodge owners is clear to see and we were treated like VIPs the whole time. I don't have to dream about things anymore, because Charlie and Serena made them come true. Cannot recommend these guys enough, they care, they are hugely passionate about their work and will go out of their way to make your trip extra special. Their passion for photography will leave you with some everlasting pictures as well. Smiles all round. We miss them already. See more..

  12. 5.0 Siyafunda Wildlife & Conservation (33 reviews)
    - Amazing Experience
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Siyafunda Wildlife & Conservation image
I went to Siyafunda Conservation not knowing what to expect. On short it was an experience above all else. I LOVED IT!! I had contact with Mike before departing, who was really good to chat to and very helpful. On arriving everyone was so welcoming and had a family vibe to them. The guides are extremely knowledgeable, professional and fun! They all have wonderful stories and experiences to share, and also really know their stuff. The general staff as well are awesome and happy to help and have a good time. The accommodation was really good, especially bush camp, which is meant to be back to basics, was very luxurious I thought, in that they had flushing toilets and proper beds in the tents. We went on both walks and game drives, learnt how to navigate using the sun, moon, stars and various trees and signs that animals have left. I learnt about different animal tracks and how to distinguish the differences. I also learnt survival skills like how to find water and the different uses of trees and plants. I also learnt a huge amount of interesting facts on birds and animals. I cant even find words to describe the life experiences learnt. We saw plenty of the big 5 animals - Lions, Leopards, Elephants, and Buffalo. We also saw plenty of the little things as well from Hyenas to Dung Beatles. Bear in mind though that this is not a 5 star lodge, so it is not luxury, you are not waited on hand and foot, and you are a VOLUNTEER so be prepared to help out with the general running's of the camps, vehicles, cooking, bush clearing and research etc. If you are prepared for that, to learn heaps and to meet and make awesome friends, then Siyafunda is definitely worth looking into. You get transfers to and from the airport, a town trip every Monday and an outing every second sunday. There is never a dull moment!! See more..

  14. 5.0 Nandzana Safaris (24 reviews)
    - Awesome Safari with Nandzana
Safaris • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Nandzana Safaris image
We just did a 2 day safari with Nandanza in Kruger. They are the best. Alison arranged things in advance by email. Alison is lovely. She tailored everything for us. We stayed in Tamboti tent camp. Craig picked us up at the Hoedspruit airport in his classic open air Land Rover and took us around for 2 full days. Craig is fantastic. Craig took us out looking for cats at 4:20 am each day (and found leopards up close) and we had the park to ourselves. Craig showed all of the animals and told us all about them. He then returned us to the airport after 2 amazing days and nights. Craig took good care of us (bbq each night — they call it braii). It was awesome. The price is very reasonable and less than you would think. This is the real deal. See more..

    - Amazing hippo interaction!
    Zoos
    Hippo Jessica image
This was an amazing experience. Both Jessica and the younger hippo, Seun (Richie) allowed for a lot of interaction. It's not every day that one has the opportunity to feed a hippo, touch and feel the inside of its mouth and rub its snoot! We had such a good time with Tonie and the hippos and can definitely recommend it to anyone going to Hoedspruit and surrounds. See more..

    Welgevonden Nature Reserve image
When staying in Sebatana we had two drives through Welgevonden. We much preferred this private reserve as the guides were all very courteous and shared locations for good sitings. They were careful to limit the amount of vehicles at sitings so that the animals weren't spooked. These were our favourite drives as we were fortunate to have close encounters here. See more..
  20. 4.5 Debengeni Waterfall (156 reviews)
    - It's called Debageni Falls
    Waterfalls
    Debengeni Waterfall image
TA has the name wrong. But such is the power of the internet, recent signs have changed some of the spellings to that shown on TA and google!! This is madness. Some original poster misspelled the name, the Americans won't correct the mistake, and because these places need visitors they are forced to change there name to suit. This way builds up resentment. Resentment leads to hate, and hate leads to... Anyway - it's a nice place to visit. OK in dry season, will be much more impressive in wet season. Toilets dreadful. BBQ pits bit worn but OK ish. Come closer. That’s what the name Zwakala means and that’s the convivial African spirit behind Magoebaskloof’s first micro-brewery – Zwakala Brewery. Nestled in the Magoebaskloof Mountains, its location is as much its signature as its Award Winning beers and its Blueberry Gin and Tonic on Tap. This charming brewery has enormous windows that overlook the mountains and you can go for a tasting, head out for a picnic or just head for the river with a Zwakala beer in hand. Even better, sleep over at Zwakala River Retreat (within walking distance) to refresh your soul after a few beers! I would like to acknowledge the fantastic service we received from Edith and Phillip at FeraCare. My wife and I braved the 20+ kilometres of sand road to get to the facility. Not knowing what to expect, they exceeded our wildest expectations. Edith was a fantastic host, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the animals. Phillip was brave and attended to the animals with extreme caution and care. The facility and the animals were fantastic. I was able to stroke Nova the cheetah. The highlight was accessing the pen housing the wild cheetahs and the wild dogs. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I will be back with more people in tow. See more..

    - Not just for Golfers!
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Extreme 19th image
We were not golfing and were still able to enjoy this attraction. The helicopter took us to the tee and we enjoyed a picnic lunch on top of the mountain. It was just our small group of five and it was one of the most breathe taking locations we have ever had lunch! The picnic was arranged by our lodging and the beautiful lunch came with china plates and cloth napkins. I just wish we had brought golf balls just to give it a try! Our heli ride was just to the top for the picnic. I wish we had requested the scenic ride (12 minutes or so) to enjoy the area from the air. See more..
  30. 4.5 Magoebaskloof Hiking Trail (26 reviews)
    - Beautiful scenery...breath-taking views
    Hiking Trails
    Magoebaskloof Hiking Trail image
We initially signed up for a 5 day trail but upon getting there, realised we could do it in 3 days. The whole three days was quite difficult and worth our while. The only dissapointment was De Hoek hut - which was said to have hot water, but didn't. Also it was filthy. The Dokolelwa Hut - beautiful scenery and stream; but we found it to be extremely filthy too, worse than De Hoek even. Other than that, the trail was properly marked and we enjoyed breathtaking sceneries and forestry! See more..
