We went on a four day Tour (1 evening safari, 1 full day safari and 1 morning safari and Panorama Route). A driver picked us up at out Hotel in Johannesburg and drove us to Umbhaba Eco Lodge in Hazyview. After our Tour we were driven back to Johannesburg airport (just as we wished) The four days exceeded our expectations. Through our guide (Pleasure) we were able to see great animals and nature and learn so much about the Kruger and its Environment. We had a very nice time with him and he gave everything to fulfill our wishes and expectations. Our entire stay was organized by Christa and we were happy to even meet her. The time in the four days was used perfectly and all pickups and drop-offs were always in time. We were a family of 5 and did a 3 nights/4 days Safari, in day 3 we went to the Panorama route. The experience was so much above our expectations that it is hard to find words to describe it. Frank was our guide, and we feel so lucky we had the privilege of being his guests for this trip. He is such a welcoming man, so nice, an amazing guide and a very experienced one. We learned so much from him and enjoyed hearing his stories, kept asking for more. Each game drive we took was exciting and he definitely had a big part in that. Doug, also so welcoming and nice cooked for us the best meals taking in consideration our dietary requirement (vegetarian gluten free) and we enjoyed his food and his company so much. Jerald took us to a lovely day at the Panaroma route and he too was so welcoming and nice. The entire safari was so well organized, our transports were on time in comfortable vehicles and welcoming drivers. We highly recommend on wild wing safaris and we can't wait to be back… See more..

We stayed 3 nights in the park and had the best T bone steak at the cattle batons restaurant in Skukuza. We saw all the big five plus many more animals. I will definitely use Africa Spear again. It was a really nice full day private safari in the Kruger NP. Pick-up was punctual at 5 am which allowed us to arrive at gate opening and having a huge lot of time in the park (until gate closed again at 5.30 pm). Guide Frank was a very friendly and knowleadgable guide with a looong guiding experience. We took a lot of the much nicer side roads and he stopped at the right places for the right time (no rushing) so that I could enjoy plenty of photo oportunities. We saw a big lion family, zebras, ellies, girafes (all with babies and youngsters), buffalos, hippos, antelopes etc. They also do morning/afternoon safaris in the much closer Pridelands Reserve (part of Greater Kruger) what I will do maybe next time. We stayed here for two days as part of a an extended honeymoon. There are warthogs and nyla's that frequent the lodge as well as some vervet monkeys. It was very cool to see them around the lodge during the day. The staff is very friendly, the food was very good, the room was beautiful. But it is the game drives that everyone is most interested in and they did not disappoint. Since they are a private game reserve they have the ability to get you close to the wildlife and do they ever. They do don't chase or harass the animals in any way but you get close up and personal with them. Our guide, Rob, was a wealth of information, he was respectful of the animals as not to cause them any stress, but does an amazing job getting you close to them. See more..

We - my husband, my parents and myself - had one of our best and unforgettable days in Kruger on a day-Trip together with our guide Keegan. He picked us up early at 5am in the camp where we we were staying and provided us with coffee and rusks first thing when entering Orpen Gate. Keegan is a wonderful guide with an extensive and thorough knowledge of the bush and all the animals. You feel that his heart beats for the bush, for the big animals, the small ones, the flying ones etc. He is very thoughtful and considerate guide and driver, always trying to make the sighting wonderful for everyone on the car. My parents, 77 and 80 years, being for the first time in South Africa, experienced a very helpful guide in all aspects. And the sightings were just amazing: white lion Caspar mating with a female, buffaloes, breeding herd of elephants and many many more. This trip exceeded all our expectations! Our guides Steve and Kgomotso were exceptional, experienced and made us feel at home right away. Elson, our cook, never dissapointed. We saw white rhino, hyena, elephant and wild dogs on our walks, to name a few. Max was extremely helpful in organising our trip. The first place we were originally looking to book for the weekend was fully booked and he came back to me promptly with an alternative within my budget range. I really appreciated his responsiveness through out and ensuring that the appropriate information about our stay was sent ahead of time. We booked at Becks Safari Lodge which is just at the edge of the Kruger and had an amazing 5 star experience, from the lodging, exquisite food and amazing game drive experience. Our room was very luxurious and private, and even had small animals grazing on the grass just outside that we could see from the terrace. Our guide and spotter for the game drives were extremely pleasant, and we got to see the big 5 all in weekend, including a magical walk with the cheetahs. The lodge manager Francois was also amazing. We were very impressed with how they took the "zero impact" policy very seriously, and I can honestly say that we left no trace behind, and we never saw any sign or trace of anyone before us! We had an awesome safari with our guide Marc two years ago! I can only recommend Funky Monkey... Marc tried to make it possible for us to get as near to the animals as possible - after the two days we saw all big five. We also did a night tour and had a great braai. We stayed in a simple house that was clean. The beds were comfortable. Marc is a very funny guy who knew how to entertain us four young ladies but at the same time he knows perfectly well how to behave in the nature and has a great knowledge of flora and fauna. spent six glorious days with these folks, it was amazing. top notch operation all around, they have this down to a science. they structured the trip with a perfect mix of available stops, all with amazing animals and scenery. the guides are the best, very knowledgeable, with the ability to know where to go to see game. remember this is not a zoo, animals are in their natural settings, sometimes you see them ,sometimes you don’t, but if this outfit can’t find them, no one can. Saw the big five, giraffes,zebras, monkeys, hyenas, etc, had an elephant outside my room one night destroying a tree, maybe six feet from me. the facilities are excellent, great pool, very safe all around. the food is the best, if you leave hungry, it’s your own fault. the folks that work there are the creme of the crop, very friendly, professional, and always looking out for you. my only complaint is the time went by too quickly, a trip I will remember forever. What an amazing time at Napi Wilderness Trail! The tents are in a beautiful setting next to a river bed. Tents are very spacious and the en-suite bathroom an absolute bonus.
