I told Youssou that I really wanted to connect with local people, and he arranged for us to stay with a wonderful family in the desert town of Lompoul where we attended a wedding party and then watched the Liverpool vs. Barcelona match with half the kids in the village. In Saint-Louis, he introduced me to an Imam and his family with whom I had a traditional lunch twice, and a renowned photographer. It was like traveling with a friend who knew the country and people. We spoke in French, but I know his English is excellent. This was my third trip to Senegal, and Youssou understood exactly the kind of experience I wanted and delivered. Very reasonable rates. We spent 2 days with Yerim, visiting the Desert of Lompoul, where we spent a night in the Ecolodge de Lompoul. The second day he took us to the Pink Lake, where we had lunch and the occasion to float in the salt lake, before taking us on a four-wheel drive through the sand dunes where the Paris-Dakar rally used to arrive. Yerim is a very good driver, always careful and never taking risks. You feel at ease with him behind the wheel. He knows his country very well, explains everything clearly, and answers any question with pleasure. He is very good at what he is doing, the entire trip was very well organised by him. He is an honoust and respectful guy, with whom you'll feel at ease when travelling through his country. If we would come back to Senegal in the future, we would definitely ask him to organise our entire trip! See more..

Malick took great care of my family for our recent 8 day trip to Senegal, helping us get around as we visited Dakar, Lompoul, and Guereo. He gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and even persuaded the Ecolodge we visited in Lompoul to not charge us for lunch since we were later arriving than planned and missed the meal. He was always early and so professional and organized. My 6 year old daughter does not always warm up to new people easily but she really liked Malick. The Sine Saloum Delta is probably the best travel experience in Senegal - it is too bad many people seem to miss it. Stay at the wonderful Keur Bamboung lodge right in the park (it is run by the same Oceanium NGO as operates a hotel and kayak toursin Dakar) and see the delta both on foot and by kayak. We saw pelicans, monkeys, warthog and many species of heron, egret and eagle and parrot, many from right outside our room. Just magical - and I love the donkey cart transport from the dock!
