My favorite part about traveling with Saliou was how he waited for everyone who had a slower pace. He’s an amazing tour guide See more..

    DINDEFELO FALLS image
A thin stream of water falls from a height of 100 meters. Even if it is the first waterfall in your life, think carefully whether it is worth spending 1.5 hour by car from Kédougou (the road is really hard even for 4x4 vehicle) and 40 minutes walking on rocks and boulders to see it. It is also possible that you will not be able to take good pictures because locals will wash their laundry near the waterfall and hang it on the stones around. The trip took almost a whole day. In the end, I wasn't impressed at all. See more..

Prices have changed drastically from last year from 15000CFA to 30000CFA for example just for the chimpanzee reserve at the dindefelo tourist office. They then charge you a tourist tax on this and if you don't have a vehicle they enforce you to pay more for their motorbikes. Our guide was terrible, asked us if we had binoculars, spent most of the excursión on his phone, with very little information on the trip at all and not really a positive mood. We ended up hiking to all the spots without a guide which is very easy using maps.me offline they will charge you 10000 for the guide just to take you to the waterfall which is an easy 1km walk that is quite well posted and locals also telling you where to go. Along the way we met some people walking with guides one was very friendly and welcomed us into his home for the night for a very cheap price and his wife cooked us the best meal we've had in Sénégal . I think we were just unlucky with our guide for the experience we paid for, however the price is definitely not worth it for any event at the moment and I truly think that they need to lower the price. Please contact me if you would like the name of a friendly Bedik guide. See more..

The national park was one of our favorite stops in Senegal, and a lot of that was due to our guide Guzman. His knowledge was second only to his ability to spot wildlife at a distance from a moving vehicle. It was incredible. If you are in the region, I definitely recommend getting a tour of the park!
