- 5.0 Mohamed City Tours (24 reviews)
-Awesome. Cultural & social with humour & kindness.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Tours
Awesome guide in Saint-Louis. Mohamed has studied, a lot I'm sure. He knows everything about the city (and region), and shows & explain with cultural and social meanings (and humour). We learned a lot, far beyond the usual touristical & often annoying conventional speeches. Please, if you can, leave him a real consequent tip : a guide awesome as Mohamed is an absolutely rare pearl. See more..

-Exception Senegal RiverCruise
Boat Tours
The most fascinating way to experience northern Senegal and history along the Senegal River. There was so much to like about myl one-week cruise program aboard Bou el Mogdad. Hospitality starts the moment of embarkation. The crew speaks fluent French with many also conversant in German, and English. The comfy cabins come in several sizes and styles (based on availability), the food is delicious and the top deck bar and sun deck always alive with activity. Extremely Interesting daily tours are included. Highly recommend for anyone who savors the river cruise experience. See more..

-Saint Louis Musee de la Photographie made my day!
Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries
I was looking to visit the Saint Louis photography museum on my last day in the city and stumbled across an amazing new project: Musee de la Photographie de St. Louis. (Reception is on Rue Quai Henri Jay.) The concept of Mr. Diao and his enthusiastic team involves showcasing local art works--music, sculpture, paintings, photography--and historical presentations within six newly restored and renovated classic Saint Louis homes. The result is a beautiful, informative mix of colour and culture. The cost was CFA 1000, and in one of the six locations only. (Soon, the restored rooms will be available to rent.) Don't miss it if you're in Saint Louis! See more..

My wife and myself lived in Senegal (Dakar) in the early/mid 80s and are now paying our first visit back since then to see some of our old haunts. One of these is Saint-Louis where we like the old Colonial style on the Island (staying at Hotel La Residence - Review to follow) and the only way to get there is by travelling across the Faidherbe Bridge which looked as lovely as ever!! For more than 10 years, the association La Liane has been helping street children, isolated women in need.
