This was the second time we did a trip with VTT and this time we went for the option of several days combination of bike + kayaks. They are very well organized and their guides are well trained. I had the most amazing time with Pierre. He was a brilliant guide - informative, kind and a genuinely nice guy. I am not the best French speaker, but he was very patient with me, and didn't mind repeating himself or using some English too. Idrissa was an excellent guide and resource for our stay in Cap Skirring - he arranged a day trip for us to visit different islands including transportation from our hotel to the boat and back. The adults and children alike loved this tour and Idrissa is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area and the culture. Idrissa is friendly, easy going, and a joy to be around. He thought of the little things like providing snacks along the way and even offered to find us transportation to and from the airport after we connected. Idrissa heard us talking about the kinds of food we wanted to eat while in Cap Skirring and sent us suggestions as well as made offers for other things to do that we may like. Upon our departure, Idrissa showed up unexpectedly with gifts from the region and to say goodbye. I highly recommend Idrissa and we will certainly contact him again when we return to Casamance! Doudou a une 50ene d’années extrêmement cultivée et explique les différences de culture avec objectivité. Paysage superbe avec une visite très complète. Soumare Tour was very helpful for our trip to Cap Skirring - we used them to arrange a half-day quad adventure and for a tour to see the cashews and pottery in the outer villages. Pierro was very responsive and speaks several languages including English. He seems to know everyone in the region and is very fun and knowledgeable. Pierro also recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner and dancing - and accompanied us for the evening. I highly recommend using this agency for travel needs in Casamance. See more..

Very professional association both in the tourism offer and more specifically in how the benefits are then entirely invested for child protection and education programming. An amazing experience, we were able to see Senegal like nobody else thanks to the Casamance au present team, and shared the daily life of Senegalese people, even learnt to cook local specialties...will see how our families like it ;) I wish you get such a powerful experience of human connection! This was an upgrade from beach camping. It had a pool, the first on the trip. Breakfast was not included, also a first on the trip. There were two single beds in a simple, small room. The a/c unit worked. The hotel was located near the main strip. Ate at the restaurant on the last night, the food being no more than average. A music show of local performers was provided. There are many restaurants near or on the main strip. Wifi was usually good but only in reception. It’s a middling choice with more good points than bad. See more..

Nous avons fait cette excursion au départ de notre hôtel à Djembereng, nous avons passé une super journée en présence de notre guide Urbain. Nous avons pris la pirogue, il y avait pleins d'oiseaux, pélicans, aigrettes, hérons, martin pêcheur au milieu de la mangrove. Nous avons fait le tour du village fetiche de Ehidj et nous avons fait aussi le tour de l'île de carabane. Nous avons vu le retour de la pêche aux raies (impressionnant, il faut se boucher le nez ...) ainsi que la sécherie des poissons. Sur l'île nous avons aussi appris sur la colonisation avec la visite de l'école spéciale, l'église bretonne ainsi que le cimetière français. Cette excursion à durée la journée. Nous remercions maryline de secretoo qui a toujours été rapide pour répondre à nos questions et urbain notre guide pour son prefessionnalisme. Cette excursion est très sympa à faire, je recommande ! On out trip through Senegal, we visited the National Park Niokolo-Koba with our guide Sogui Wade. He picked the right spot to stay at the Eco lodge at the north entrance: the accommodation was simple, but more than adequate, overlooking the river. Sitting in a chair with something to drink at hand, you could watch the birds in the river. The next day, we took a 4X4 trip into the park. The driver apparently figured we were in for a Paris-Dakar experience, as he raced over the dirt road. Our requests to go slowly and stop regularly were met with disbelief and reluctance. With the insistence of Sogui we managed to do some nice birding, spotting a Bateleur (impressive!) in the air and getting a glimpse of the Abyssinian Ground Hornbill. If only we had driven more slowly, we could have had a much better look of them! Nevertheless, we got to see spades of birds, if only in passing though. The next morning we took a boat trip on the river, to watch Rhinoceros, which we got to see. But on the way, with the help of the excellent guide we spotted several other species, such as Palm-nut Vulture, the African Pygmy Goose, the Lizard Buzzard, the Shikra, the Double-spurred Francolin, the Senegal Thick-knee, the Egyptian Plover, the Violet Turaco, African Palm Swifts, Malachite Kingfisher, Grey-headed Kingfisher, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Woodland Kingfisher, Giant Kingfisher, Swallow-tailed Bee-eater, Red-throated Bee-eater, Green Wood-hoopoe. If ever I were to visit this park again, I would make sure to find a driver who was sensitive to the wishes of nature lovers, rather than a would-be rally driver. See more..
