3.5Vohimana must be VOIMMA(4 reviews) - Great Park run by the community. Do not miss!! Nature & Wildlife Areas • Hiking Trails • Forests
We spent a full day visiting Vohimana Park. The life and the landscape of the park was amazing. You start by crossing the railroad to arrive to the Vohimana Visitor Center, where you can actually stay overnight. The views from there are amazing, sorrounded by a waterfall and a very beautiful valley. Then, we continued the trek from there spotting different chamaleons and a lot of birds. We even had the chance to see the beetle giraffe. We would recommend this park to everyone and of you have the time, to spend a night there.See more..
3.5Zahamena National Park(3 reviews) - Nice rainforest - difficult access National Parks • Parks
The national park of zahamena is the best for wildlife experience. Yes, it is! It is quite a tough adventure as there is no developped infrastructure. It is highly recommended to hire a 4wd to visit it with less trekking. The taxibrousse accessibility is difficult. Drive the road from Moramanga to Ambatondrazaka. From Ambatondrazaka, go to Ankosy and then to Zahamena. The end of the road by car depends to the season. This park is threatened by the "precious stones dealers". There is a mining site next to the park and the miners who are looking for different kind of precious stoneshunt and eat animals including lemurs. For information, it is fady for local people to eat lemurs but those who eat lemurs are the others from all around the country. Pretty sad but it is the reality!See more..
