I was with Jefalgi Papua Tours at the Korowai tribe and the Baliem Valley in II.2017 during 11 days. The choice was difficult because it is difficult to decide on the distance of a good guide. But I decided first of all: a very good e-mail contact with the Athan. The answers to my many questions answered patiently, and tips and advice were invaluable. It was very reliable and professional help, and then the organization. The choice was difficult from the other end of the world - if there are many guides, but there are only few reviews. Especially I recommend the guide Olfied. Very professional person. Everything was very well organized, there were no problems. Olfied has very strong knowledgeable about the area, tells interesting stories and has a great contact with people. He helps and cares about everyone. 11 days to visit the Korowai tribe and the Baliem Valley is too short. A better solution is an extended stay in the jungle than in the Baliem Valley. Korowai tribe is very friendly (we all still live, they do not eat us ). Due to the short time trip, every day we were on the trekking. It lacked even 1 or 2 days to spend time in one hamlet. The expedition is not cheap, but worth it and you have to come here and see the last place of wildlife and wild nature and the people who live here without the achievements of civilization. This is a real return to the past. Although the Valley Baliem disappointed me. Next time I would like go on trekking only into the jungle and tribes. See more..

For an everlasting experience go for à multiple day trekking in the Baliem Valley. Of course you go for a local guide and we then highly recommend Onesius Lokobal. He is an experienced guide, originates from the Valley and can tell you all you want to know. He really takes care of everything. He will ask a fair price and the local people will benefit also from what you pay. When you leave the Valley after your trekking, you will leave a friend. We will never forget this week with Onesius. Skow is the border post between Indonesia dan PNG. In Indonesia area where nice and well maintained, don’t forget to take pictures near the monuments, with light house as background. The army who guarding the border are very friendly. We don't need special permit to cross the border. See more..

Not quite far from Sentani City, 1,5 hours by car and around 40 minute with a boat you can found a natural beach, white sand and blue-green crystal-clear water. Amazingly,..you also can jump to "flush" your "salty body" at freshwater lagoon, that just 50 metre from the beach. See more..

After more than 2 hours trip by car from Nabire finally we arrived at the Tanjung Kwatisore where we changed to boat to find the whale sharks. After 10 minutes we stop at the first bagan and the fisherman said there was only one whale shark there and suggested us to go to the other bagan where more whale sharks could be find. It was true, at the 2nd bagan we met 3 whale sharks and swam there for about an hour. We pay Rp 300000,- to the fisherman as the compensation for them to feed the whale sharks with shrimps to keep the whale sharks stay around the bagan. It was really amazing to swim very close with those whale sharks. Although it is safe enough but please to keep be careful and don't touch them. See more..
