10/10. All gear was in excellent condition and was provided to us. The instructor was very social and professional. He gave us a very good tutorial before the safari as well as clear instructions for different possible situations. They provided legally mandatory insurances to both us people and for the snowmobiles. We had a break in the middle of the trip by a lake and enjoyed coffee and snacks by the fire provided by them. TIP! If it is a sunny day we would recommend a pair of sunglasses or skii glasses ☀️ In addition we got very honest and brilliant tips for our Northern lights seeking. Breathtakingly beautiful hike in autumn! Did 82+ km hike with my friends in late September - colourful sceneries, varied landscape , friendly people. Very well marked trail, suitable for beginners yet not too easy. The hardest terrain is from Porontimajoki to Ruka (which was the last leg in our case) but it's also the most beautiful if it's happen to be good weather. The trail isn't too wild and meets number of smaller trails so you'll probably meet any kind of hikers on your way. Take a tent or a tarp with you 'cause the huts may be full. We would like more campfire sites, especially crowded was the last night in Porontimajoki. It's nice to have a fire on a wet chilly night. But we are all very happy with this experience. See more..

It was really cute, and whole part of display was devoted to Moomins, my favourite childhood cartoon. Kuusamo Local History Museum (0 review)
History Museums

The Kuusamo Local History Museum, located near the center of Kuusamo on the shores of lake Torankijärvi, tells about the traditional life of people who have been living in the harsh conditions of North Eastern Finland. Their livelihood came from a mixture of agriculture, pastoral farming, reindeer herding, hunting and fishing. The 16 buildings located in the museum’s area include the houses Pulkkanen and Rävä, a cowshed and a stable. Other buildings, which used to be part of the old homesteads, are also exhibited in the area, as well as a postwar temporary housing. The houses were donated to the museum by people living in the different parts of Kuusamo. The exhibition changes every year. The museum is open in summer and by arrangement.
